I have been looking at making a greenhouse and I want something more ridgid than pvc. The cost for a commercial greenhouse frame is outrageous! So after learing how the pipes are rolled out I started looking for plans to make a slip roll, but harbor freight has one that will do 1 inch pipe and its so cheap there is no reason to build one. Wow, really like that 'Mega-Bender' ! Looks like we could make not only a greenhouse but a "Shop" for our big trucks too!  Gonna have to show this to my other half. |

I bent my metal tubes for a hooped greenhouse around the galvanized water tank ( Don't think I would try bending them around a plastic tank) Cheers Ron |

i looked at a bunch of similar tools but none of the people who were trying to sell them could tell me how to use them to get a specific even radius. Other than by practice. |

20' lengths of 1-3/8" galvanized fence top rail is available everywhere and is bigger and stonger and probably cheaper than the 1" so just ordered DY20 from Hoopman. Plus us ap'ers have to stick together!

Its $20 cheaper than website! Good price. I went to the C-20 because it looks heavier duty and I didn't have the bolted down work table to work off of. I plan on mounting mine to the side of my shed to do the bending. I may order the TR100 also to get the 21 inch transition bend for the vertical walls/taller building. |

I bought some from loy also - though postage to Australia is a killer. Love the look of that harbor freight one though. I took looked at plans to make one like that at one stage, but I didn't have the tools to make the wheels. BTW - I haven't used my Loy supplied hoopbender yet. One potential problem will be deciding what tube size to use. It was designed for 1 3/8 inch as bill says - but I don't think that is a size they use here (I have since realised)

What did it cost to freight it out here VB.... And I think that sized top rail (metric equivalent) is commonly used for fencing purposes...

What Loy tells you at his website is that the diameter of the tubing is important, but what is more so is the thickness of the tubing itself. Check the thickness of the tubing to make sure it will provide you with the wind/snow load you anticipate. One thing that can be of assistance in reducing the snow load is to use a double film design with a "blower" installed to provide an air space between the layers.
