As above. Ferny sends her love, new earth is treating her well. (if you actually understand this then you've been here too long) I go and give you blokes a few months to catch up to my post count, to no avail Whats been going on? there is ZERO chance of me catching up on posts, so if you think any any would be especially interesting for me then link to them here please. To all the new faces............dont believe what you've been told about me, unless its good stuff, thats all true, but not the bad stuff, they're all lies, damn lies. current system update is as follows; 3 BYAP beds online tomatoes fruiting and being picked comfrey growing madly (pot on growbed) radish left to seed and almost ready. all watercress wet to seed and seed pods now bursting with new growth evident. chilli flowering (pot in growbed) silverbeet just going to seed, got long season out of it. two trout survived until yesterday. muzza (the monster Cod) still there but doesnt move from his PVC log. many goldies and baby cod in old IBC (now offline with no filter or bed) but could not put them in tank BC of trout. Did anyone find any reddies for me? |

Welcome back. I've got a couple of comfrey plants. One is in a pot the other in the ground. They send down deep roots and get potassium from the sub soil. Think it was potassium. |

yep, believe you're right. went to move the pot the other day (it has 4 plants in it) so i could give one to a mate, and yep, the roots are well down into the GB, no moving till i'm ready to re-pot the lot. It is a FANTASTIC healing herb, a poultice will make lite work of the rawest blister in two days, burns will leave no scars, bruising is reduced markedly. all first hand experience. everyone should have some. |

The pot in the grow beds may help with the cracked ribs, medicinal purposes

Welcome back, I wondered what happened to you. comfrey removes bruises? Thats interesting. I uses the bamboo beating to completelt free myself of lower back pain, just need something to remove the bruises and toxins. Another thought, you are growing it in a pot.. What would happen if I covered my growbed in compost? If it did not work its way down into the growbed and plug it up the plants would not need supplemental additives. Perhaps use water from the fish tank like this

thanks siphonphobia Dan, that plant in your picture looks very suspicious........ as does the pre bloom caption, LOL. interesting concept. when you say compost i assume you mean "finished compost"? sounds like a plan! i have one growbed only semi-full (ran out of media) i i can muster the motivation (a problem since birth) i might try it.............. maybe lay a plastic mesh or weave over the existing media so when its time to remove it or it fails we can remove it easily? i think i have a high ph issue, can tell by the lack of growth and the yellowing even with out a measurement. possibly the only down side of having a high CaCO3 (shells) content is when you dont have the needed stocking levels. good to hear from all you blokes |

If you don't mind the discolouration... you could fill the rest of the bed with coco chips Steve... would bring the pH back as well.... depends how wet it would stay though I guess ... |
