Some of you may have seen from another post that my welder gave up on me after only a few hours of service (cutting out just a couple of seconds into each cycle). Unfortunately it is out of warranty because it sat in the box for about 2 years after I first bought it I e-mailed Cigweld, told them my problem and asked if they could do anything to help. I emphasised that I had bought the known/reputable brand so that this sort of thing would not happen. Cigweld diagnosed the problem as a thermostat issue (fairly obvious) and are sending me a new one for nothing so that I can have somebody fit it. I congratulate Cigweld for treating their customes like they should, by taking some responsibility for faults that should not occur. In this instance buying the known brand product has worked out (hope I am not speaking prematurely). |

There was indeed. It had set solid and has broken in half. It nearly looks like a hard white silicon (though I know it isn't). Where do I get that stuff from steve. |

I often do things that i should know better. I repaired my dishwasher once, and knew i had to put some of that compund back around the water temperature sensor, but didn't have any handy. The water comes in at about 60C but the damn thing still wanted to heat it higher becasue the sensor was getting a low reading through lack of heat transfer. god knows what temp it would heat it to |

Received the thermostat Steve. Have not fitted it yet as I have not needed to the welder since I finished my grow-bed stand. Will fit it when I next need to use the welder or when I get a spare minute. |
