Saw a system for holding up tomatoes in hydro would be suitable for any climbing plant. You use the little figure eight push tab on the top of an aluminium can tie the string to the big end and loop it through as such it can be adjusted to length in the same way as you would the adjusters on a tent. they can also be cut with a pair of side cutters to loop around the plant. The best bit is drinking the cans

Tooo much hard work... although drinking the cans makes the idea worth the thought... I use these self-tensioning hooks ... urrgh that pic is evilly big... Rupe, where do you get those hooks, they're pretty, and would suit well I think... How long is the string? I'd like to hang them from the roof. Although i think rope to twine the plant about would be easier, and cheaper. |

I use the ones that you tie to the bottom of the plant. And as it grows you just wrap the plant around it. Or at least thats how I think your meant to use them. |

Similar. But these are a wire hook with the string wrapped around it. I'll be able to use them once I can get the tomatoes to grow better. |

My greenhouse has wire running the length to support the shade cloth. Notice someone else is doing the same thing now. Maybe I should of put a patent on it.

They're brand new... and I do have a few (hundred) of them... The other ones I pictured (hook/string)...are available from another aquaponics website @ about $0.55... from memory... The self tensioning ones I use are obviously more expensive... I'll figure a price... qty may influence price.... |
