Try this web site. http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf23322120.tip.html

Mint is used in middle eastern cooking (tabouleh) and many other ethnic cuisine.

I've never tried it but can you freeze chopped mint. It is soft like basil but if used for cooking, tea or a mint pesto it might work.

You can also add it to epson salt for a great foot soak! They used to make sachets of it to put in your pillows for sleep

That is some nice looking mint. Mine often gets a bit sorry looking so it is easy to slim down the amount I have to deal with.

You could probably dry as much as you have space to deal with since crushed dried leaves take almost no space to store. Biggest challenge is finding enough space to dry it.

See if you can give some away.

Put some in a jar of water and use fresh mint leaves in you beverages and on your salads until you need to toss it out.

Perhaps you could make a batch of really strong mint tea to test out as a pesticide.

If you have a way to extract mint oil, that would probably be more effective as a pesticide.

Our tilapia like basil, I haven't tried to see if they like mint yet though.

thanx all, good ideas :)

city, i will definatly try the epsom salts and mint, but as a bath.

I did this once before, epsom salts, bowl of crushed mint, handfull of pepper, dried rosehip and dried cinnamon. was Very relaxing to the point of falling into a deep sleep

would really like to test out if it was the mint that gave it most of the effect! :)

those six bags were from a "haircut" of the IBC/bathtub system which has mint extracting nutes until i transfer the trout to the new setup. the bed is pretty much clogged and runs on a continuous flow now, which means that it is pretty much flooded all the time. mint seems to like it.

Oh, and there is probably another 8 bags still to come out. not bad for a standard bath tub? ;)

Amazing how mint seems to thrive in most conditions. Waterlogged, poor soil, gravel, swamp, shade, sun, low pH, high pH, lots of nutrients etc. Only problem I know is it will take over a bed.

If you mean to contain the mint? It will go right through a bag I bet. You might be able to contain it by placing bottomless containers into a bed and planting the mint in that but not sure that the mint wouldn't find it's way out the bottom or over the top into the general bed population.

Bruise the mess out of it then heat it in a pressure cooker covered with water (with pressure gauge) but do not let it vent. Then cool in fridge. Next day siphon off the essential oil from the top of the water.. Or use the distillation method.. essential oil is goods for lots of things like making the house smell good or medicine or flavor...
