This is it, we are all doomed. Our blue barrels will dissolve into pieces, our PE sheets will no longer hold water. And all the fault of this 16-yr old and his science project....http://www.science.uwaterloo.ca/WWSEF/0 ... Report.pdf

Face it, if bacterial start eating plastic, civilization will collapse even sooner than we thought. Tires (or "tyres" for some of you who spell wrong (*grin*)), plumbing, irrigation, electrical insulation, all our electronics.....all gone!

Doomed! Doomed! We're all doomed!

......Well, ok, maybe very, very, very slowly doomed... And sunlight breaks the stuff down faster than bacteria..... Actually, this is pretty cool since it is the first thing I've seen that implies that plastics might break down completely (into CO2 and water?) rather than into little flakes that stay around for millennia.
