Don't believe the bipartisan hype.

Use Linux! :D

Micro$oft & Apple spend billions on marketing to manipulate customers into buying their products. Don't get sucked in - there are alternatives.

"there are alternatives."

yah you could always devote 2 years of your life to getting linux to boot ;)

P.s. macs don't play the games i like so they can stfu xD
i think the newer ones might FINALLY run most games but if i wanted to spend $4,000 i'd just get a ballin pc and a car that worked with all the money i didn't spend getting one ;)

You got me wrong DD... I don't hate Mac's at all..... just can't stand the level of intellectual masturbation and generally rabid bulls@#t that the Mac [s]wienners[/s] whiners carry on with... especially about M$....

Heck some people even like old Citreons and gogo-mobiles

At the end of the day the Mac occupies (and always has) an very small percentage of the market and doesn't do anything that a generic PC running windows (or Linux) can do .... or do anything substanially better.... just differently at times.

Hey... as long as it can surf the net and log on to the forum .... kudos....

But then again, I can connect to my 30 year old Digital Alpha 800 cluster running VMS (using only 128mb of ram) from anywhere in the world, happily knowing there's no way I can be compromised by viruses or spam... transfer files, surf the net... do anything ... remotely...

Knowing that it will run 24/7/365... and that if a disk or a member of the cluster system dies that it will all failover within < 1 sec.... and the other cluster machine isn't even in the same building :D

Oh yeah! Amiga was great! My Amiga still works - I was using it the other day ... albeit to play games! :)

For computer games, it just doesn't get any better than Rick Dangerous 2! :D

Wow, you really just don't get it if you think that. If the Mac didn't do anything substantially better than Windows then how do you figure that it can survive at such a lower market share. If it was essentially a clone of Windows that didn't do anything better than Windows it would have died long ago.

BTW, just buy a Mac and install both systems on it. When you Windows system is clogged up with junk after six months of using the Internet you can use the Mac to still get things done.

p.s. Commodore VIC-20 all-the-way baby! (Made this Commodore pillow in home economics class in 8th grade)

OK, I'll bite... just what does a Mac do substantially better?

If you look at it from another way DD... then you'd have to ask the question....

If a Mac can do things substantially better than windows.... then why doesn't it have a much larger market share

EXACTLY Rupert ,, if these rotten iApples are so good why do they only have 3% of the market?
The iApplists will also state that they have less hacks , security breaches etc ,, probably very accurate , why? Because the hackers are trying to breach what 97% of the population is using.
