Hi Everyone, I've been growing stuff using clay balls. I've grown a few things that start up really well and then die all of a sudden. The tomato plants seem to unaffected. However my cucumbers, snow peas. And now my my parsley was growing wildly and all of a sudden there dieing. As I pulled the plants out I noticed worms within the root system. Is it possible that the worms are killing the plants? |

Have you checked for slugs Numbers can build up in the growbeds I have an extension for my standpipe so I can deep flood my growbeds ive adjusted my gravel depth so all gravel goes under water when the extension is on I leave the bed deep flooding for 24hrs Slugs have to come up or drown when I first did this I was getting 50 to a 100 slugs a bed ,every time I clean out and replant I do this I only get a few now Worms are an important part of the system they process fish waste and plant roots when plants are pulled out Check for slugs , snails , earwigs ect go out at night with a torch |

Can you explain more, how they die? Wilting, yellowing, browning, black or white speckles?.Or maybe a lack of Oxygen as the roots get bigger, disease. With the latest the parsley. A few branches start to wither. Then after approx a week the whole plant just goes limp, turn yellow and die. Had 3 seperate parsley plant. One went limp. Then within days the other 2 followed the same pattern. Will try flooding it. See what pops up....... |

I flooded the system and left it for 24hrs. Only found about 6 slugs and drowned a lot of spidermites. The parsley is commig back to life. Might needs to perform more pest drowning. Cheers |
