Hi Ira, There are a few of us nearby - Caboolture (BigRed), Burpengary (EllKayBee) and Narangba (me). LKBs system is definitely worth a look. cheers Derek |

Hi Folks and thanks, Bribie Island is just north of Brisbane...Caboolture area...45 mins. You can have a look on Google Earth, but the pic is not too good....methinks Caboolture Council is trying to hide something. In fact if you ever do any 4X4 driving in the back you'll know why! I will put up some pics when I get going but I am still looking for some grow beds and have to make a fishtank out of concrete blocks. I thought of using bath tubs for the grow beds, but EWLI will probli moan like hell. Thinks, Thinks.......... Stuck! Never mind, that's par for the course. I also want to build a house to keep the sun of the 'little darlings' but EWLI will demand that it looks like a bought one! I found a great 'grow lamp' too so that I can extend the days a little in winter. I am looking forward to getting this lot up and running soon. Cheers, Ira Probli meet up with some 'locals' one of these days when I start looking for the 'little darlings' to put in my tank. Wouldn't have a clue where to get, Except to catch my own and play them romantic music..... |

The water around Bribie and Redcliffe is no where near that blue. Good guess though. I live in Deception Bay, north of Redcliffe, south of Caboolture. As most of these locals blokes will know it's has many names, Depression Bay, Decrepit Bay, Decadent Bay, Deplorable Bay the list surely goes on. Would be nice to get to know some fellow AP'rs in person, even start a local organisation and pilfer money from the government. I tell my mates about this stuff and they fall asleep but I'm sure there is a large portion of the community (ie: schools) that would be interested and benefit from AP. Might be a worthwhile venture if anyone is interested. Although we'll probably just get tanked and talk about fish, that's all I do these days. |

The name Gerringong derives from an Aboriginal word meaning "fearful place". Rupert do you collect your morning paper in the nudd? I can't think of anything scarier. |

You seem to be a bunch with a good sense of humus.... My place is awash with bloody green tree frogs.. they keep egging up any container with rain water in it so I am wondering why I could not feed my fish on the tadpoles. Should be great for protein, live feed should keep them fit chasing their food around, and keep the population under control.....very noisy when it rains, I have to turn up the T.V. so that problem would cease too.. Anyone know of a reason why that wont work? Or will I end up with a tank full of fish that are growing legs and threatening to leave. Some taddies are already about 12mm long. I know they are GTFs becauise the eyes are on the outside of their head, not recessed in and on top. (Yes of course they have the eyes on the outside.....) Anyone? Ira |
