-----The Little Green Trailer that Could-------- By TimC

Now I must tell you a story about the little green 6'x4' trailer that COULD. This trailer does not know the meaning of too wide, too long, or too DAMN big, it will never be defeated. Todays mission would see it serve two tours of duty.

The first trip to Joel's new shop we loaded on 7 GB's, two 500L and 10 Bags of Hydroton. The little green trailer that could didn't even break a sweat as it drove to Forrestfield delivering AP goods. After a lunch break it was off again back down to the AP shop.

The second trip was a little more challenging, Already burden with another 10 bags of Hydroton and 3x 1000L Tanks it was faced with its biggest mission yet. The the little green trailer that could now stood face to face with the big kahuna, the big cheese, the ultimate in backyard aquaponics gear....... it was the mighty 3000L fish tank...

As the 3000L fish tank was rolled into to position, the trailer felt a trembling in its leaf springs, a few flakes of green paint fell away revealing a small spot of rust. The fish tank cast a shadow over the trailer like nothing it had come up against before, not the dozen solar panels, not the IBC or the 6x 3' fishtank stand, not even the towering networking rack cabinet... The little trailer that could was frightened. But it stayed positive....

I think I can....
I think I can....
I think I can....
I think I can....

The fish tank was heaved over into position, its bulk was lowered carefully over the now dwarfed 1000L tanks. The trailer lurched as it took up the weight of the beast.....

I think I can....
I think I can....

Somehow, out of pure luck, or a miracle from above, the fish tank came to a rest quite comfortably on the trailer. The beast had been tamed! However in the process it blocked the entire rear view vision. and was sticking out over the sides and nearly blocked the side mirrors, but that is another story.

A few tie downs and the Little Trailer that could, was ready to go. A few odd stares and some tactical driving later, it was back safe and sound at home. Ready and waiting for its next challenge.

Lovin it.

Sounds like a big system you have planned Tim. What about the other 50 bags of hydroton

There were three of us that all ordered stuff at the same time. Two of them both went with hydroton.... I am still out on hydro, I want it but can't really justify the cost atm...

Hopefully they will post their proposed systems soon.... Hint, Hint... I know at least one of them is reading this...

I now remember seeing your system design Tim - just got thrown with you buying the extra GB's. Are you using gravel?

LOL! I love it. :D

Going to be a nice system when it's together. :)

Yes the plan is to go with gravel, unless I can afford hydroton in the next few weeks. It will take me a while to get it all together so I have a while yet to decide. I am leaning towards half and half.
