Heres a guy in Perth with a crazy christmas light set up. It's synchronized to music so you really need sound for it.. Here is the light show http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=y2cXrS0Xysw Here is the news segment explaining it all http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=c_CEhAMgsr8&NR=1 |

I've seen your link before bk, it's very old. Yet to the same music... so my questions: 1. Why is it the same music? 2. Is it the same guy and he moved? 3. Is it a really sad copycat? 4. Can you buy the control as a kit, and it comes pre setup for this music? Some of the gear looked really similar if not the same... but then it could still be a kit if not the same guy... Crazy man has too much time on his hands (and yet ever since I saw the first I have wanted to do it myself) The control would not be that hard, but the tedium in wiring it all up... I'm no sparky, we pay ppl to do the hard work, we just make it do cool stuff; and claim ALL the credit |

To get lights to run to music all you need is a chaser, thay are fairly cheap, we had one ages ago when I played in a band |

the BK one was from americal i think the EB one was from oz. Gnash, it was more than "making it go to the music" more like choreographed 16384 possible light combinations at any one moment |

yeah and to the SAME track... this is a bit weird... The control is significant from a wiring point of view, and expensive. But the program would be relatively simple. If I were copying I'm not sure I'd use the same music... which begs the questions I raised, and I believe are still unanswered |

maybe, just maybe, two years ago the family lived in the US, then they moved to Perth, brought their lights and soundtrack with them.... |

Aha! Jaymie has chosen option 2! Any backup for option 2??? I think this has to be the most logical... |

It is possible that he bought the same brand controller as the US guy... The reason that song is popular is because it is ideal to 'show off' the the light effects. The light sequencer he uses has 8 different songs. If you watch the new report it shows how the lights had to be synced up to the music... |

I think if that guy were my next door neighbor, I would sneak over at 2AM with my little wire cutters and make about 100 little snips. snip snip snip snip snip snip snip snip snip :giggleinsanely: snip snip snip snip snip snip :giggleinsanelyagain: Can you imagine trying to sleep with that light show going on through the blinds? And 300 cars on your road every night??? I'd be homicidal after the second night. And it's not that I don't appreciate a good Christmas light show. Longwood Gardens near here puts on wonderful Christmas lights. Far far away from my bedroom window. |

Too true BF too true. You can't eat lights... difference between light and hard Janet? If you have to you CAN go to sleep with a light on... |
