I tried to get silvers and jades here in Cairns at the pet stores - they just looked at me funny, I am going to have to fly some in by the look of things .. so I will first see how your lot all shape up before I make up my mind :)

Am, my first batch of silvers grew to about 15cm, were very hardy, and had no deaths until my power failure.

The current lot of jades also arrived in prime condition, and the only two have died, one i am assuming is the one that took a 1.5m fall from the tank, and the other one was nearly dead from lack of o2 when i moved a batch and left them in the bucket. I can reccommend ausyfish enough.

Steve

Sounding good... I would almost definately have to go through them as I just can't get them here (wonders if they are in the wild around cairns  ...) but 20 would cost $80 plus, so they are far down on the list of must gets items ... so keeping up on all the reports on here will have to do for now :(

Steve

No more losses (only the one I may have crushed with the bio filter), and they are growing well.

The tank still hasn't cycled properly so I'm still doing regular water changes.

I'm keeping them in a holding pattern till I can get the loops for a green house and get that built, then I can better plan my layout etc.

Warren

shipping plus cost of fish to cairns... hmmm, but I was wrong and I could get them cheaper, then I dont mind having made a mistake in my calculations :)
