Today saw a number of people of importance ( ;) ) walking through our school aquaponics system. Yep, Mr Malcolm Turnbull and his associates visited Peace Lutheran College to present us with our green voucher ($50000 to spend on water projects - we intend to install several cement in ground water tanks).
Part of the grant application outlined how the aquaponics project and school nursery would make a great deal of use of the water stored in the proposed water tanks. So, whilst here, Mr Malcolm Turnbull visited our AP project and had a good look around and asked a LOT of questions. I was pleasantly surprised at how many questions he and his numerious staff asked about AP and how/why we do it. In fact they expressed how impressed they were by the concept of AP! This in one politician who seems interested in aquaponics and seems to clearly see the benefits of it, both in the city and in our outlying communities :)

LOL steve! Looks good! ;)

He and his staff were far more interested and even slightly impressed about Aquaponics than I could have hoped for. My students were answering questions on all sides all the time... they were so excited that people wanted to know about AP, and they explained it so very well too - made this teacher so very proud!

It is so great that our school was able to get so much funding for the water tanks (that are mainly for AP)!
