What is necessary , the right conditions, what temperature and food And do i need anything else special? |

Not to impugn the varied and amazing acumen of BYAP but I think Google will be a good resource for researching a full breeding setup. |

find keith's basement system thread, he has the most info on raising minnows in a small system. the phototropic cycle (day duration) is probably going to trigger breeding more than temperatures. but temperatures should be warm. mid 70's or higher. Clay pots work well for male's "nests" and the eggs attach to them well. Once they hatch i feed them algae bloom water for algae and zooplankton until they are big enough to see then i give them crushed up/ground commercial feed. I have been told the fry will start on commercial feed immediately but they are almost microscopic and i have never done it that way. |
