Ok.... After spending like 12 hours digging a hole for my sump, by myself, with no machinery.... I thought I'd start up a thread for people to show off the madness! Hopefully it doesn't scare anyone off ahaha! Would be great to see some other crazy holes, as well as anything weird or wonderful you have done for our shared obsession Aquaponics. My hole: ![]() It measured 1.4m deep, 1.4m wide and 1.8 long. I won't lie, almost killed me! My dirt: ![]() It's amazing how much dirt comes out! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Here is my hole. Even with a tractor it took me months to dig.

Wow! My 10 X 4 hole means nothing! It did make me realize I never want to bury a body though! |

I was expecting to see a hole in you as in leaking blood and stuff from some AP related accident. Well done on you dirt hole and well done for not leaking during its construction. |

My hand dug hole photos for FT and ST are at the start of my system thread, the FT hole was 2.5m across, a bit over a metre deep, and required a lot of pick work, the mattock just bounced off the hard clay. The ST was not quite so deep, but the ground was still so hard I had to use the pick on it too. |

Screw the holes, I'm jealous of the dirt! Over here we get yellow sand, or if you are really lucky, white sand. The white is slightly less water repellent... slightly. |

You should compare digging in it. Hard dry clay is tough to get through. |

Hey dosent count if you use animal labour either. Look at that poor dog, he's tuckered out after digging so much hole he can't even make it to a comply bed. LOL |
