Hi all,
I'd like to get active on an Australian garden forum. Among many others, one thing I've learned from my time doing AP, is the importance of choosing a really good forum. What defines good for me?
Well, it has to be:
- Active. Many forums are museums. Sometimes good references, but no good for Q&A.
- Friendly. It helps a lot if you enjoy the (virtual) company of the participants.
- Supportive and respectful. I don't join a forum so someone can prop up their defective self esteem by making me look/feel stupid.
- Knowledgeable members. Newbies should be welcomed and supported, but I have learnt heaps by eavesdropping (what's the online equivalent? Lurking?) on discussions between very knowledgeable and experienced members.
So do you have a favourite gardening forum? If so, which of the above criteria does it meet.
I'm specifically interested in Australian forums so if you reply can you indicate what country/locality the forum focuses on. Of course wherever your favourite forum focuses on, your reply will probably be useful to someone on BYAP, so share, share, share!
