I visited a large hobby farm plot the other day that was run totally on commercial chemicals. it was very interesting to see how it's done as i have never used anything like it.
All his veggies were amazingly green and healthy. very very high density as well. it really shows that modern farming gets great results.
however.... I also saw a patch he had abandonded for a few months, not even the weeds were growing there. looks like the soil gets totally ruined by the intensive farming, so once the external fertiliser is gone the ground is basicly dust.

did you taste any of the veggies?

That's the true test of success in food production.

nope, wasn't keen on it since there was no where to wash them off and he used a LOT of pesticide.
They looked good though.

You can make weeds look good enough to eat with enough chemicals...

Weeds are good to eat. Dandelion wine, dandelion salad, purslane...

You can make -plastic- look good enough to eat with enough chemicals.

might as well eat plastic, be just as much nutritional value lol

Did you know, the cereal box is more nutritious than the cereal...

The bushes used to make old boot soup put boots in pot with a couple of large stones boil till the stones are soft then throw away the boots and eat the stones

the bear patch he might have sprayed to kill off the weeds so that they dont grow later

its actualy a standard farming practice you kill everything then plant your crop and hope you dont kill it too
