found this webpage on the net. check it out, car technically runs on Hydrogen (with a little carbon monoxide)

the wood gets turned to charcoal and at 1000C it strip the O2 off steam that is injected leaving hydrogen which is drawn into the engine.

These guys drove around oz  would make a cool stationary power plant too.

I am interested in this and have a little experience regards running engines on gas from charcoal, wood and coconut oil!

I think that yesyerday eve "four corners" ABC Australia ran a programme showing diesel cars, trucks and Utes running on coconut in Bouganville Isalnd. Coconut oil works well .. if attention is paid to filtration, and to a little dilution with diesel oil ... thins it and lowers the freezing point!

Lemme know .. cos IMHO .. trans-esterification to produce "biodiesel" is probably not necessary with oils like coconut oil!

Good filtration and blending with diesel or Kero .. a much cheaper option IMHO!

I have reference to a published scientific paper that I wrote on it if anyone is interested. (But to be honest ... I would just filter the stuff.. filter it to eliminate solids... mix a little diesel in it ( 10 - 20 %) .. and have fun!)

Flush the engine fuel delivery system using diesel to enable easy start and finish.

Use heaters if necessary.

read a whizz bang system (not really that high tech ;)) that started on diesel, then switched to Veg, then switched back to diesel and ran on with a timer to purge the lines for shut down.

how does the kero fit in the scheme of things J7? apart from the obvious. what are its effects on the fuel quality?

Well.. Lister / Petter engines UK .. .. (They build word class engine generator sets) said that engine wear after 1000 hours on a 90 % coco / diesel blend was comapable to normal diesel fuel. But that the fuel pump and injector system showed less wear than a system run on 100 % diesel oil.

Oh .. if diesel isn't handy .. use "kerosene" or "paraffin" .. (I think it is the same stuff... in UK it is paraffin, in Aus and USA it called kero ) ... in the mix.

Don't use volatiles like petrol or alcohol in a diesel engine.
