Hi, I recently joined and the reason for me joining is because I found a previous thread talking about how this incredible "Backyard Liberty" thing is a scam. I watched their promo video and was pretty taken in. I have never heard of Aquaponics before and the video made it sound incredible. The only thing which put me off was how the video was set up and how everything seemed too good to be true. For a moment I thought that maybe this man is doing this for the benefit of hard working family strung human beings. Thankfully I came across a previous thread on this site about it being a scam.

My main question and concern is if the "Backyard Liberty" is a scam that means that the method he describes must not work so I am wondering if ANY method works, is there really such a thing as being able to farm fish and grow vegetables at the same time with such ease that a beginner can do it in his own back yard? This is undoubtedly the best place to come to find answers. All help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

The methods that they describe are not the scam, it is that they give limited information, and CHARGE MONEY for it. Here you will find vastly more info, for FREE. If you are looking for a good quick summary of what Aquaponics is all about, download the free PDF linked on the top of this page called IBCofAquaponics.

the "scam" part of it is, that the information that they are trying to sell you is available for free..(most if it right here on this web site!)
and some of the info is just incorrect - they often overstate the amount of fish/veggies that you can grow,
using fear as a marketing tool... sounds familiar, huh?

Yes, the thread was all about backyard liberty being a scam, not whether aquaponics is a scam.... Backyard liberty is a scam... Aquaponics is not... :)

There is another level of scamness (:D I like inventing words) - often these (let's be polite and call them 'people' :)) have never run an AP setup - they steal the info and pics from elsewhere, package it up and pretend it is their gift to humanity to let you have it for, not $248... not $150... but for the miserly price of $79.95.

Not having experience means they have no idea if the things they tell you will work, nor what to do if you have a problem. e.g. I am a fan of siphons, but you have only to look around this site to see how many people have problems with them. And I bet every one of them started with reading how to make a siphon.

If it didn't work this forum wouldn't have so many members.

You ought to PM Marc Rupe.
He knows how to make things grow big; or perhaps fat would be a better description.
