any of you blokes heard about the shooting at 8:15am in melbourne CBD? reets works around the corner, all the buildings had their doors locked. Dude was bluing with a girl, two guys stepped in to help her out and he pulls a gun, shoots all three of them one of the guys twice, and then WALKS away like nothing has happened. Sick bastard. Its nice to see that people will still lend a hand, i'
d hate to live in a place where people "don't want to get involved" just so sad that doing so got one of them killed. :(

Heard it on "Sunrise" this morning, thought of you and hoped you weren't in the vicinity - see one has died from the wounds, hope they get him soon

Where I work it is the DMZ, some nights in the summer we have more gunfire than Baghdad on Saturday night!

We used to have two idiots who lived across the street from the lot who would regularly come out of thier apartment, onto the balcony, and shoot a 32 auto at the front of our shop building. The bunk where I regularly slept had a bullet hole over it, in the roof. When I changed beds, the bunk I chose had a window next to it. One night the window got busted by a guy throwing a beer bottle over the 8 foot tall fence, and into it. We regularly have Police helicopters circling the lot, and the neighborhood, shining thier spotlight on things trying to find hoods.

I'm literally laughing out loud. Maybe it's the lack of sleep...maybe it's the too much coffee...but this is one of the many reasons that I love reading this forum. I love learning the aussie slang and the aussie to american translations.

Unfortunately, where I work, the property values can't go much lower (nor can the level of humanity that live there). Killings, rape, spousal and child abuse are so common neighbors do not call the authorities to report it. Drug dealing and prostitution are common and rampant! The black and the hispanic gangs are in a constant state of war with each other. The Police are unable to stem the tide, and the cesspool is overflowing. Welcome to a city where it was safe to walk the streets when the Mafia controlled criminal activity. (At one time the city had a known organized crime family in charge. No one went against them because they knew that they would end up in the river, feeding the fishes! Now that the government has "rid the city of organized crime" we are facing gangs that have no concern about preying upon anyone, and who openly engage in warfare on the streets.) I am not for the corruption and other problems we had with organized crime, but I can tell you we were a lot safer then, than we are now with disorganized criminals!

at least he had the sense to hand himself in. now we get the pleasure of spending countless thousands of dollars putting him to trial (why should he get one I say), and then keeping the useless evil prick in jail for the rest of his life. Grrrrrrr
