i have tilapia and here are my current levels PH= 7.6+ High PH= 8.2 Ammonia= 0ppm Nitrate= 0ppm Nitrite= 0ppm I know I need to bring down the PH what is the best course of action? My plants are growing good but are turning yellowish in color. I hate to admit it but I don't know what levels the others elements should be at. |

How come your pH ranges from 7.6 to 8.2? I would say your leaves are turning because you have no nitrates. From what I have read pH fluctuations that drastic are not good for plants or fish health. |

probably the high ph and low ph tests.. do nothing to "adjust" the ph, it will drop on it's own.. in the meantime, you can give your plants some maxicrop with iron to provide some micronutrients until your system matures.. how long have you been cycling? the water is probably stained from the fish food (high protein?) keep an eye on ammonia and nitrites, when they start to go up, stop feeding until the nitrates start going up and ammonia and nitrites have reached 0 |

sorry my PH is higher than 7.6 that's why I put a + symbol next to it my reference chart I was using did not go that high. I have been told either my iron is low or im not getting enough nutrients from my fish I have 105 fish in a 270G FT supplying 6 36 quart GBs. So I am still trying to understand what my levels should be assuming that the PH is most likely closer to the high PH listed above seeing as the vial was mark darker than the highest reference available to me on my chart. last question is are my ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate levels good at 0 ppm readings. |

I agree with Kieth. Do nothing to try to adjust the pH. The pH will drop by its self. You will only annoy the fish. Maxicrop with iron will help any iron deficiencies. Should you realy feel like you need to do something. Have a cup of coffee. |

Your "yellowing" is more likely to be an iron deficiency... Maxicrop+Iron... as suggested... The Maxicrop.... will address any nitrate deficiency as well... |

and it looks like you're way overstocked.. how big do you plan to grow the fish? i wouldn't go over a 10lb bioload (you can "safely" grow 10 fish to 1lb with the amount of filtration you have) with only 54 gallons of growbed/filtration.. realistically under 50 gallons of filtration.. you're going to experience a crazy ammonia spike... if it hasn't started already.. |

Does Seasol contain any Nitrogen? Because the only thing that maxicrop supplements is Potassium (K20) and trace nutrients/minerals. Of course "Plus Iron" supplements iron in the form of iron sulfate. Now if you get their Liquid Fish, or Liquid Seaweed and Fish... then it contains nitrogen. |

Seasol, and Maxicrop... both have very low N:K:P ratios.... |
