hello everyone, im still really new here and especially very new to aquaponics, my first system hasn't even finished cycling yet but i have already found the forums very friendly and helpful. for this i am very thankful. now in my brief time browsing this site i have noticed a few things which i find very promising form a hydroponics point of view. firstly i am amazed by how automated a lot of these systems are. when growing in hydroponics its a very technically demanding experience. i have been doing it on a hobby level for some yrs and have been pushing myself in every way possible. i dont think i am an expert by any means but i have learned a lot and continue to learn every day which is how i ended up here in fact, after pushing hydroponics and learning more and more about finding a natural synergy in my systems it eventually led me here to AP which i believe will probably be the final evolution of my systems. anyway there doesn't seem to be the constant battle with PH that is necessary in Hydroponics, finding EC levels that can keep all your plants equally happy doesn't seem to be an issue and for the most part most of you seem to be very proficient fish keepers and the plants just grow themselves. i absolutely love that! well done everyone and i look forward to getting to know you all better |

Welcome stutter! Really with media beds if you don't try to be too fancy you should be able to reach the "feed and forget" stage where you are just feeding the fish every day and harvesting whatever plants are ready. Most of the complexity is self-inflicted from people experimenting or making things more complicated than they really need to be. |

IBC's are the cheapest way to get setup thanks mantis. i have already been through all that and i have already sourced an IBC. i am however just tooling around with a little system at the moment. 1 x 50l FT 1 x 50l GB 5 small comets do you think 5 small comets is enough to power a small garden? should i consider getting a few extra? |
