my ft has 10 comet in it, 180litres and i have 150litres of gb. power went down in kewdale and cloverdale earlytonight. it was meant to be back up at 11pm, i checked back on wa power website, they have reviewed it now to unknown.... i have no backup air or pump system so im hoping it come back in thenext 12hours... if not and thr fish die ill use the compwnsation money to buy more. it sounds like from reading here that other fish like sp and barra wont last a few hours without air. is this due to stockibg densities or the fish physiology? |

My SP have lived through a 6 hour power outage. I think when members have experienced losses through power outages its usually the big ones that die first. So its my assumptions that the oxygen requirements of larger fish are greater. Goldfish are generally small fish so Id imagine they would last longer than most species. Trout are probably the most 02 hungry out of all the edible fresh water species. |
