I got nothing against good engineering and driving in luxury; I have noticed though that many people who drive recent model or the latest model Mercs and BMWs do not indicate when they are going to make a turn in Australia. Seriously this is not something I am imagining or have witnessed on a few random occasions, this is a very regular occurance! Anyone else notice this?

Is there some kind of club that you get into when you drive these cars called the "WDIC: We Don't Indicate Club"?

Or is it because they are so frugal with their money that they don't want to wear out the indicator lamp?

This post is not directed at all people who drive a Merc or BMW.

Sorry this was meant to be in the Venting Section!

They were never uncool!...

P.S. I indicate, but so as to avoid wearing out the expensive indicator lamps, I usually just put my arm out the window and use the middle finger on my right hand!

Mr Damage was that photo taken at ZigZag? That looks like a very well cared for vehicle.

Nah, up at Gidgie...

It's actually sitting in the garage covered in a protective layer of dust, hasn't been driven in ages... just started now and then, but it's still shiny underneath!...

P.S. Hey Rupe... Didn't Joel just buy an Audi?...

Yabbies, I've no problems with Audis....

It's just all the dicks that used to drive bemmers... and made bemmers "uncool"... are now driving Audis.... and making Audis "uncool"...

Thus bemmers are now cool again....

Joel didn't use to drive a bemmer did he.... :D

It is the Lexus drivers in the US that are the worst. Infiniti drivers don't have time to be dicks, they are driving too fast to care! Here Beemers and Benzes are more common than Fords and Chevies.

We have a Volvo  When the wife was test driving it down one of our busiest dual lane roads, not being used to the European design of indicator stem on left of steering wheel, she promptly changes lanes with the wipers on  she was a tad embarrassed to say the least.

I told her not to worry as other drivers expected such behaviour from a Volvo driver and would have been giving us a wide berth.

Bought the car and a hat for her to wear while driving it.:joker:

I hope you didn't forget to buy the mandatory white bowls hat... and place it on the rear parcel tray!

Everyone knows that when you can afford to buy a late model beamer or merc that common people laws dont apply to you...

Its funny how common people seem to forget that.

Yeah, settle on with the Audi drivers.. A well informed intelligent bunch of people they are... :D

I also have an old volvo 850-T5.. Lovely car to drive.. I was driving the volvo after only having it for a couple of days and had to drive at night.. There I was cruising down a country road, found where the high beam switch was, no problem, on the indicator arm. Then when a car came towards me I started frantically looking for how to turn it off, do I click it towards me again or push it away.. I pushed the indicator away from me a bit too hard in my desperation and snapped off the indicator arm..

So there I was stuck driving back home at night with my high beam stuck on, and unable to indicate.. Was I worried? Only for a little while, then I realized I was driving a volvo and many people would just expect no indication and high beam...
