Hi all

wondering if anyone has ever been down the owner building path (especialy in w.a), we need to make our house bigger (before the kids kill each other) and are looking into put on a games room about 4m by 9m, im fairly confident that i can do the actual build but have no idea how to get to the building bit

my mums partner is an archictect and will do the plans for us .
one of our freinds is was a grano so we can do the slab ourselves with his help.
i have a cousin who is a roof chippy hope to rope him in for some tips as well

and thats about it

Any pointers much apreciated
Cheers
Pete

I reckon you will be able to do it yourself, no problems.

Get yourself the The Australian House Building Manual by Allan Staines

Going through this myself at the moment - well still getting final plans drawn up by a Draftsman.

Have you done the Owner Builders course? I think you will need to do that before you can submit plans to your council (depending on value of extension).

Home Base Expo do them.
