It was a fairly big frog. maybe 10-12 cm long? The surface of the ball is dry. The ball itself is a bit bigger than a tennis ball. On another frog development I have frogs in my GB drainpipe. Which is fine except I worry that their poo will foul my water. Although I guess tadpoles and maybe frog spawn are a good food source. They will flow nicely back into my FT! |

If you squint the reflection of it in the water sort of looks like a frog. So it is confirmed to be frog spawn |

Pretty sure it's a frog nest. A google image search for a tree frog nest has some pictures. Apparently when ready the tadpoles will drop into the water below. Which makes me wonder if I can transplant the nest to my FT. Fish food dropping from the sky! I have an amphibian identification book at home which I will consult when in get home. Checking my Hong Kong Amphibians and Reptiles book, I have a Brown Tree Frog nest. Although last night we had a heavy rainfall and the container overflowed, soaking the nest. The nest is pretty ruined now and I can see some tiny tadpoles in the water. The container also has some shrimp and a few small fish. It will be interesting to see if they are able to survive as I think it's too early for them to be out of the nest. Polypedates megacephalus. Sent from my GT-I9001 using Tapatalk |
