You're on the ball F&F.. :) Theres a seperate section for mods to discuss board stuff, and practice moving, trimming, copying posts etc.. This area can only be seen by mods and admin..

Yeah that one had me totally confused one night very recently as well F&F...

Posts flying everywhere... nuff said....

By the way "editing" a post bumps the count as well

I don't think that is quite correct:
post count before submitting this post 1756

Edit:
Post count after submitting 1757

Edit 2: post count still 1757 - "editing" of post does not boost post count
(mine still will be 1757 after submitting this edit)

as you can see, I have done a number of edits and the post count remains at 1757 (myth busters  )

Just as a further test, I went to another post in a different thread and edited that - post count still 1757 (and a further edit here)

and then you get the times when the page just decides you've done enough reading and zeroes itself :banghead: even though you may know there are HEAPS of posts still to be read angry9:

I think the gremlins inside the box just like messing with your head :blob6:

Misunderstood us Les.. not your personal post count that is affected by editing but the "New Posts" count at the top of the page..

and yeah Jaymie.... the arbitrary "New Post" count reset to zero has me totally confused as well.

You may see your own personal posts going backwards sometimes also due to cleaning out of old banter from some system threads.

A lot of people would have seen their counters spinning backwards as I cleared out my first thread - I tried to be ruthless so only the info was left - sorryy if any of you were watching you posts climb and I cuty it back - just trying to make it easy to follow for new members etc :)

Not going to worry me in the slightest...

AM, is it only mods, or those with a certain post count, that can delete from their own thread and/or post?

You should be able to edit your OWN stuff, but yes, only admin and mods can delete other member's posts (and only if need be)
