In a bid to be healthier I've been eating quite a bit of raw food lately, so I thought I might put up some pics of things that I have been making..

This was todays lunch, a big plate of pasta..

Yeah, ok, perhaps it's not really pasta, but it was surprisingly good.. Raw zucchini sliced through a little hand slicer into long threads, then topped with a mix of tomatoes, sun dried tomatoes, onions and lots of fresh herbs whizzed up in the food processor.

Then a kalamata olive, herb and capsicum mix on top of that..

As I said, surprisingly good, and afterwards you're not left with the gluggy, "I need to curl up and go to sleep in the corner" feeling.

Breakfast...

Raw dehydrated Zuchini and onion bread, with a nut cheese spread and bruchetta topping...

Not a diet as such.... Just that a visit to the doctor a while back with blood tests basically said, time to change your life style or time for more tests and medications.. And most of it was just lifestyle based.. I wasn't going to give up beer so healthy food won... :)

It'd be good if the doctor frightens him again because the food is really, really good and yummy! Lunch was delightful :thumbright: Keep practicing Joel, I'll be the guinea pig!

Hi Earthbound,
Have you heard of the Paleo Diet by any chance ?
Its basically about eating what humans ate before the invention of agriculture, so anything you can eat raw, or kill with a spear.
No starchy stuff like potatoes, grains (corn, wheat etc). Just good ol raw veges and quality grass fed meat, and no real concerns about fat/cholesterol (fat is not the problem in the western diet, its mainly the sugar and lack of vitamins/minerals, also a significant percentage of cholesterol is produced in the body, so eating is much less of a problem than is made out)
I don't follow it all that strictly (had a coffee, softdrink, bread, grains today) but I would LIKE to be better at it :)

I was expecting a raw fish topic based on the thread title and website. Have eaten plenty in my years living in Japan, not only raw fish but chicken, beef and horse aswell. Don't worry FB, I passed on the whale meat. Anyone ever tried aquaponic sashimi?
