Hi all,
As some of you are probably aware from my "Water Tester Giveaway" thread,
http://www.backyardaquaponics.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=10599
that my daughter Ashleigh is busily raising funds for Cancer Councils' "Relay for life".
This is an Fund raising event where her team must keep a baton in continuous motion around a track for 18 hours.
Funds go to the Cancer Council, and help not only Cancer research,
but also help to provide support and counselling for patients and their families as they go through treatment.

There are currently over 50 teams registered in the relay, with some of these teams having up to 40 members...

Therefore...

It is with great pride that I tell you that Ashleigh is currently sitting THIRD on the "Overall Individual Fundraiser" list, :headbang:
This is largely due to the fantastic support from the BYAP community :notworthy:
There are less than $100 separating the top 3 spots.

Being so close to the top position, we thought we would have a "Crack at the Crown"!!
The only hitch is money needs to go in today!!!
The tally for best Fundraiser closes tonight! (15th November) Australian EDST
This is the last chance to donate through the website.

If you would like to help out Ashleigh AND donate to a very worthy cause, Use the link to her "Donation" page.
One thing to remember though is that there are two "DONATE" buttons on her page. (one Purple, one Grey)
The one to use is the GREY button. this will add to Ashleighs' total. (The purple one will donate to the relay in general and not show up on Ashleighs' page)

Here is a link to "DONATE" to her page.

Once Again,
Thank you Joel for allowing me to use this wonderfull Forum to advertise this Fundraiser.
This communities support has made a massive difference in somebodies life!

Best Wishes
and Kind regards
Dicko

Can't stop just because you reach one little goal! :D If she did that she would still be sitting on $100.
(No more money from you EB, You've done more than enough!) :thumbright:

Well It's official...
With over $1800, Ashleigh is now not only leading the "overall individual" fundraising list,
but she is nearly $200 clear of second place! :bootyshake:
Looks like we may even get some "Official" photo's of Ash wearing her BYAP Cap!

But she is still $200 short of her current goal people... and only a couple of hours left in the race!

Thanks again everyone.

Hi Ashleigh here,
I just wanted to thank every one who donated to the Cancer Council through my Relay for Life fundraising page! :colors:
I'm currently the top fundraiser for the Maroondah event in Victoria, with a total of just over $2000.
The donations from the BYAP community were greatly appreciated, as they really helped me reach my constantly changing goals. :love4: (sorry Joel) :D
This cause means a lot to me, I've lost loved family members and I've seen the effect it has on those that are left behind,
and the support you have shown me will enable professionals to help cancer patients to get through difficult times in their lives.
Thanks again,
Ashleigh

Very well done Ashleigh :headbang:
Cancer surviver, well so far, myself and what you are doing is fantastic. With more work cancer will be not as scary as it once was and is, and causes like this help.
I have no clue how to use the meter I got but if I really want to know I will read the manual :D
