gday guys and gals ive been cycling for approx 3 weeks fishless (after the first lot died) then cleaned out tank with with all readings 0 then have now added urea 1/2 teaspoon for 600 ltr ft which has jumped my ammonia to 8 nitrite to 1 and rate 0-5.. should i do a partial water change or should i wait for the amm to go to 0 by itself i am aware this is the cold time of year in melb which will take the cycling a little longer any news for me is good news!!!! |

Just let it settle. It may take another 4 to 5 weeks yet until the Colony builds up on your media to handle the Ammonia. Cheers IanK |

+1 to Ian's advice. As you don't have fish ammonia of 8 isn't going to harm anything. |
