Thought this would be of interest particularly for TCL, I remember you mentioning your neighbours thoughts on backyard food growing if this woman got 93 days for growing a veggie garden you better watch out an AP system could land you in the slammer for a considerable stretch :naughty:

Her garden consists of 5 raised beds, where she grows a mix of squashes, corn, tomatoes, flowers, and other veggies. Bass received a warning from the city telling her to remove the vegetable garden, because it doesn't adhere to city ordinances

Quote:
Supposedly, Bass is in noncompliance with a city ordinance that states that only "suitable" plant material is allowed on the lawn area of residences. When local media asked city planner Kevin Rulkowski what that meant, he said suitable means "common:" lawn, nice shrubs, and flowers. However, the city ordinance does not specifically state that those are the only allowed plant materials.

This is to go before a jury. I hope they have more common sense than the 'City'.

Well, I live in a condo, and we have similar 'laws' about uniform look from what the outside observer sees of the condo...and aside from a few fees...this situation is easily fixable, so shouldn't carry a huge penalty.

A friend called the cops because there was a foot chase through her yard. The cops came, were grateful because they were looking for the runners, and then one of the cops promptly threatened to ticket my friend for having "dangerous plants" in her back yard. Blackberry bushes. The thorns had torn the cop's pants while he was looking for foot prints.

His partner mocked him into backing down, while my friend stood there thinking "this is what I get for being a good citizen?"
