LOL...before I clicked on this thread I just got through a PM to VB saying he could have up to a dozen if he wanted them.

If VB wants all of those I can probably scrounge up a few more for you AM & Steve. It's hard to tell how many is in the clump I'm about to dig up...there may be up to twenty there...it's hard to tell with arrowroot until you stick the spade in because they spread underground before they pop up and become visible.

If not I can probably bandicoot a few from some other stands.

Can any of you blokes use some lemongrass while I'm at it - either cut lemongrass or stems to plant?

I divide lemongrass about once every 10-12 months Steve - but that's in the tropics where it grows more quickly than it probably will down your way. You might be better off leaving yours a bit longer than that, but yeah, it does multiply quickly.

The more regularly you cut it in the warmer weather the faster it grows and the more clumps it sends out - like most grass it thrives on being cut.

I'll send you a couple...I've got way too much...everyone I know (and a few people I don't ;-)) have enough cut lemongrass for years. That way you can keep one plant for producing and the others for dividing.

The FDA has been shown in scandal after scandal as totally corrupt lackeys for corporate interests. Still, no one seems to care enough to change the system.

I just purchased "Synsepalum dulcificum MIRACLE FRUIT TREE 2 PLANTS" off eBay from Thailand shipped to Texas for ~$35. There are also seeds offered.

It is claimed one needs a slightly acidic soil and growing conditions to do well.

With about three 'ifs' in a few months I should have some cuttings started. If the plant makes it through the winter, next year I should be able to try those magic berries nest summer.

I started with one stem of lemongrass with 1.5 little roots attached...after one summer it's got about 30 stems, the leaves span about 1.5m diameter...goes great in AP!
