Kevin, while there might be much that I could disagree with you on, even in your last post .....

You end with the crux of the matter, not only for the people of the USA but for the people of the world....

Not just in terms of possible military conflict or threat but much, much, much more because....

If we as the "free" world and advocates of democracy and if we are as pure of heart and intention and wish to succeed in our intentions....

Then we must show that we live, act and are what we say we are and what we might ask others to be and do.

If we are not above and beyond, have in a sense a purity of thought and action.... then we have no right to ask that other's should follow us or our beliefs.

Frabkly Kevin I beleive that it is exactly the perceptions of massive hippocracy and brute bullying either militarily or economically that has created, fueled and fostered the very problems and mind sets of many of the evils, both east and west, which trouble our world today.

We can not claim to be "Christians" or believers of freedom while we stand in another persons land with a machine gun in our hands and threaten "shock and awe".

and much of that depends on your definitions of freedom and democracy....

sadly these days they've become as corrupted and morally devoid as a cheap prostitiute...... sadly usually for the same monetary reasons.

Yep its a fine line between democracy and a dictatorship!
Though those in a dictatorship would prolly disagree.
My father and his bros fought for um freedom, or so we have been told.
Lost a couple of uncles.
And mucked up a shirt load of lives.
But things are changing, now we employ ecconimic tactics to bring a country into line!

and the power of the multi nationals to help (rape) an ecconmy.
Oh and the WB(world bank)IMF int monetry fund. G8, APEC Pacific rim
group of nations. amoungst others!

Actually, the situation is pretty well summed up in one act of the play "Old Calcutta". In that act, they are talking about practicioners of a certain perversion. Those who freely practice it are like those who live and practice democracy, while those who are forced into it are like those in a dictatorship.

Rupe, I agree with you on several points. It's just too many people want to go the route of "talking" and not "acting". The American President Theodore Roosevelt said, "speak softly and carry a big stick." The problem is too many people do not like it when the big stick is used. Those who think that way are the same ones who allowed Adolf Hitler to come into power, overrun Poland and France, then turn against his peace allies in England and Russia.

Freedom is the absence of government or of a governing factor, other then your own limitations


Democracy is where every other person is telling you what to do and what you want to do.

what i really hate is when people think they can use the voting system to force there option on the rest of the population just because they have enough monies to do buy offs to get 51% of the vote. and then act all high mighty just because "the voters said so", and "its the law" and 60 years after the stupid law was put into effect, they still wont even consider looking at revising the law. it just makes me sick, and im not kidding.

In a democracy, the people have the government that they deserve.

If you don't like what your government is doing on your behalf then either convince your government to change its behaviour or convince your fellow citizens to make you the gouvernment by runing for office.

No buts, no ifs, no excuses.

Talk is cheap.

Only action matters.

I don't like many things that my government is doing but they are doing a better job than I would; so I put up with it (tolerate it).

NB: In all honnesty I must admit that the inconvenience of public life are so significative that something pretty big would have to happen before I get involved - but then I get what I deserve.

Agreed Julien. While I am not a self appointed conservative (I do live in the most conservative place in Canada...) I have to admit that at least this government is getting things done, and not corruptly taking our money(to the same extent) as the last government.
Ultimately, if we let others run democracy how they want, then we will probably not be happy with it.

True. I like the ones I voted for. My local pollutions. But all the state and fed are absolutely off there rocker on a lot. There not ancient Greek pollutions (even how hard they try to be).



True. In order to run for office, big bucks are required. College is a little bit more important.



There’s maybes, pollution might be in my future, but im looking to change the world in more of my actions not words. Like AP, or Bio Fuels, or Ranger….

the pollution that are in place are not the best, there many capable people in the USA, are a hole lot smarter, and would do way better, but there not pollutions. There just regular people, just all that they want to do is there hobbies.
And that’s fine. Basically pollutions are like babies, they always need to be changed, soon and often. There’s to many rotting stinky diapers in DC

But I have the utmost respect for all of them and there good abolishment’s, just not there bad ones. I do not know what there each personal motives are, but I can only assume that it is where there fathers motives were. $ . By the way, it not the president that controls are country, it’s the congress, both houses.
