"There is nothing more difficult to take in hand, more perilous to conduct, or more uncertain in its success, than to take the lead in the introduction of a new order of things. For the reformer has enemies in all those who profit by the old order, and only lukewarm defenders in all those who would profit by the new order, this lukewarmness arising partly from fear of their adversaries … and partly from the incredulity of mankind, who do not truly believe in anything new until they have had actual experience of it." – Niccolo Machiavelli - (found it in an another forum post by Sylvia Bernstein)

Hmm... I am thinking... I got into AP just because of those fee lunches over internet. Information is free these days... thanks to internet. People share and learn and in AP, I feel, there can't be any competitors because it is absolutely localized operation. We need millions of AP operations to take on the world and feed the people chemical-free organic food.

from the the " Growing Flower thread " This is a nice quote

"We believe .....that the person who says that "nothing comes for free"
There is no delight in owning anything unshared
knows absolutely nothing about the power and strength of human kindness"

cheers

It's those who speak of "We" that have no conviction of their own and therefore have nothing really to share that is theirs. How could they know anything about human kindness?

Mine.

As an optimist I can endorse that one. I'm afraid though, that as an AP'er at times you have to reach for the top of the tree and end up with your face in the mud. Occupational hazard, I guess? :)

Aquaponics goes in waves... you've got to be patient! People bail and give up on their AP way too early. They just don't put the work and the effort into it. You've got to suck up your ego a lot of times, because that can be a big downfall. (thought for myself )

I was more referring to the moment of harvesting; with a ladder high in the tree to get those nice big papaya's out and then the ladder goes....... Face in the mud.

Watching the movie.. In Time.. heard two quotes.

"Truth is, for a few to be immortal, many must die." What a shame!

And,

"F: What do we got? A day?... M: Lots of things can be done in a day." Quote-worthy!

Mrs Charlie's gran always says after finishing a meal.... "If that was lunch, Ive had it." or "If that was supper, Ive had it."

Very corny but it always seems to crack me up.

This is just one big collection of amazing quotes..... (or possibly just the funniest conversation...ever)

Brian Fantana: [about Veronica] I'll give this little cookie an hour before we're doing the no-pants dance. Time to musk up.
[opens cologne cabinet]
Ron Burgundy: Wow. Never ceases to amaze me. What cologne you gonna go with? London Gentleman, or wait. No, no, no. Hold on. Blackbeard's Delight.
Brian Fantana: No, she gets a special cologne... It's called Sex Panther by Odeon. It's illegal in nine countries... Yep, it's made with bits of real panther, so you know it's good.
Ron Burgundy: It's quite pungent.
Brian Fantana: Oh yeah.
Ron Burgundy: It's a formidable scent... It stings the nostrils. In a good way.
Brian Fantana: Yep.
Ron Burgundy: Brian, I'm gonna be honest with you, that smells like pure gasoline.
Brian Fantana: They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time, it works every time.
[cheesy grin]
Ron Burgundy: That doesn't make sense.
Brian Fantana: Well... Let's go see if we can make this little kitty purr.
