I have seen a display like this in a gallery/meuseum in Montreal (I think it was). Its meant to be a bit of fun where you pretend to make the shadows. Its a bit like the guy who does the chalk drawings on the footpaths. Fun all the same. I wish I was that creative.

Ah... well that makes sense. I looked, thought 'how neat is that'then the hind brain kicked in with a "wait an effing minute!!!'

yes, the shadow ones are all fake.

the egg one is good though.

I looked at the eggs and thought, 'how crazy would you be... down to the last half dozen and someone slams a door...

Then I wondered how much superglue... :D

Looking at Charlie's yabby pics above would make one wonder why Cherax destructor is listed as a vulnerable species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

The way Charlie is going on his yabbie hunts.... they might end up listed as "endangered"...

Didn't you know that it was the IUCN that engineered Charlie's pending translocation to NSW, in an attempt to preserve the pure WA strain of the yab? Apparently, IUCN agents have been keeping tabs on Charlie and his yabby exploits for years . . .

I think Charlie may have realised he had been compromised at that point. (Gee, I hardly recognised him without being able to see his trademark toe ring!)

pretty cool. I saw an almost as awsome view in brisbane driving south over the gateway bridge. A huge storm but looked like a massive column coming towards the city with a ring of clouds around it, then a lightning strike that spiraled around it to the ground. I was driging and had a crappy phone, couldn't get any pics and i don't think any one else did either... It only exists in my mind now ... (I swear I saw it !!)

Hey Rupe, if your house is at the bottom of that strike I think you have to kinda feel it's meant to be!

SuperVeg I know how you feel. It reminds me of something that happened when I was a kid.
We were visiting my uncle on his farm. It was night time, prob about 9pm and I went outside with a torch to go see what the farm was like at night. I was walking on my own when suddenly there was a bright light in the sky - no not an UFO - but it was a meteorite. Suddenly it flashed really bright and the whole area turned into daylight for a second. The meteorite must have vaporised or something. It was like being in a dark place and someone letting off a very bright camera flash.

I rushed inside and told all the grownups but they all looked at me like I was an alien (I am not, I assure you.) I was sent off to bed with an assumption that I had had too much dessert or something. :)

Anyway, it's always amazing when you see something fantastic like that but very frustrating if you can't get a record of it.

Filmed this on our honeymoon in Canada back in 09. We hiked to the end of Lake Louise and it was nearing sunset and almost everyone had turned back except for us and 2 American guys. We were just about to leave when we were rewarded with this:
(my Mrs is in the foreground)

What the video doesn't show is the almighty boom that resonated across the valley.

Awesome old school Lawn Mower converted to run on woodgas from an onboard wood gassifier.
Just in case somebody needs a new addiction.
