It is very strange, but suddenly the my resize picture tool is not longer working, which means I can't post any pics here anymore.

I just use the microsoft add on which has been linked here a few times. You right click the file within explore and then choose the resize picture option. Nothing happens when I do this anymore - the screen giving you choice of small, medium and large doesn't even come up.

I removed it and downloaded again, but still doesn't work.

Can anyone point me toward another easy to use tool?

I use IrfanView (http://www.irfanview.com/), a free program that you can set to resize a bunch of pictures at once, it's not as easy-to-use as your MS tool though.

But I think you might fix your right-click problem by searching through the options in your MS resize tool thingy (just start it up from All Programs). Usually there's a checkbox that enables the right-click menu, so disable it, restart the program and enable it again?

When I open powertoys for windows XP from the all programs menu - the only thing I can go to is the readme file. Are others able to open the program from here. I'd never checked until earlier today (because I had always used it from right click).

Just installed the program, and it doesn't even have an options menu. I guess you'll have to dig in the Windows registery to fix it.. Can't help you there.

Just worked out that the resize pictures option is also available through the file menu. If I use it from here it works - so I guess that is how I will do it from here on. Thanks for responding guys.

heres one for you all.

A while ago my little bro bought a WD 320G HDD to be used as a storage drive on his PC. Complained that his PC ran like crap after he installed it. I tld him it was all in his head and re-install windows as it was "due" for it.
He still feels it runs slower.

Yesterday i went and bought the same HDD as i'd run out of space (well, sorta ;)) Guess what?

My PC runs like a bag-o-shite now, even the forum!

ANy ideas?

Is it a 7200rpm or 5400rpm one? How much cache does it have? Is it over 90% full of stuff?

8mb cache, i assume 7200 rpm. But the point is that its not the system drive (in both cases) and it seems to bog the whole system down.

I know, it seems weird, and i didn't believe my bro, but now i'm finding the same thing!

Maybe the computer's trying to index the entire drive or something.. See anything unusual when you bring up the task manager (ctrl-alt-del)?

My current drive (only 200GB) is nearly 100% full of stuff and computer is starting to run like shit. Not good with computers so not inclined to buy another hard drive to install inside - but am empted to get a USB external one to put stuff that is rarely accessed on. Any major problems with those fellas other than that they are slow to load stuff onto and get stuff off of?

Yeah go external..... I have 4 or 5 external drives and they are great.. They are ok to work with VB, only a bit slow if your copying lots of GB around, like multiple full length movies etc..

Cool - thanks Joel. What brand do you have. Had thought of getting one from DealsDirect or one of those joints. Quite a bit cheaper than the shops - maybe cos they are crap.
