Been stung on the lip by a wasp before - I looked like a cartoon character with inflated lips for an entire day!... I'd rather have bees!

I have been looking all over our campus and not a single bee - even the ones that used to be on the other side of the campus are 'gone' :?
It is a worry as there are loads of flowering plants around here! :(

I must be lucky. I have lots of native bees, classic bees (European) as well as blue banded bees. Always heaps of them on my grow bed. They love the basil heads (which I don't nip out because in AP the plant just continues to grow despite having gone to head).

our local honey producer says that most of their honey comes from the bees feeding on weeds in the area not any crops or ornamental plants. The honey tastes great :D

PLENTY of weeds around here - but no bees :( We must have the wrong kind of 'weed' here ... I guess those bees of yours are really 'flying high' then hey J ;)

WOOHOO!!!
After several days of searching, then giving up... I finally have good news
I have bees SOMEWHERE in the neighbourhood - and not only that, but there are 2 different kinds - the native Australian bee and the garden verity honey bee :) I saw both within 2 days of one another :) the native one was exploring holes in the wall near my garden tap, and the honey bee was drinking water from a pool of rain water on the back of my UTE :)

Then this morning, while doing the chore Natasha has accumulated for me I almost got stung by wasps (see pic below) This nest is just over the fence from my AP system, so I am guessing they visit there oftem
