HG, wow, that dedication. I guess people don't often think about the "energy" required to "produce" things.

Embodied energy. Very important. Your ecological footprint. Very important. Always so much to consider, but once you figure the basics out, you can actually start thinking like that automatically. I'm slowly getting there, but am still hindered by my lifestyle (I really want to build my own place, get off the grid etc).

Steve (& everyone): If you want to have a simple read that will spark your mind to think about these things I found this book to be fun & very insightful (almost wrote inciteful, but it is that too.. ).

Energy is what I would consider to be the main thing to consider, not money, or even kgs of CO... CO is produced because of the energy requirements of everything.

I can highly recommend the book, it's a good little read.. They also have a website http://www.lintrezza.com/.. I've already emailed Linda about my courtyard, growing food etc..

homegrown: I really like the Gong & surrounds. I love having a close friend down there that I can visit occasionally.. Wouldn't mind exploring further afield, but I'm happy getting down there to enjoy the feeling of Wollongong. My friend's already bought us all tix, so happily (phew), we have our seats reserved already! Yay!

Aha - so u missed it, yesterday I was reading a post and the word "censored" was displayed, while I was trying to work out what the hell had been used, Steve jumped in and changed it.

Apparently it wasn't naughty, just something the "censor" algorithm picked up - Damn (well that's the official release)
