You mean as in a contractor who was running out of time (put in a reason) and couldn't do all properties and picked the easiest on the list? :)

I hear ya. I had a synergy power estimation, why? Because the power was out when they visited to read the meter.... When I queried it they asked me why the power was out...

And don't even get me started on rentals..........

I used to get these notices from Western Power all the time, Couldn't read because of dog.

Umm, meter cabinet on wall outside gate, dog on inside of gate. I got sick of it and complained after three notices. They now find the meter box is on the outside of the gate.

Happy to know the dog makes a noise when someone comes up the side of the house.

I'm currently trying to make Dragon's Beard (hand pulled fairy floss), and it's kicking my arse.

First batch was too runny, and it wouldn't pull properly. Second batch was too hard, and it was like trying to stretch hard candy, it ended up snapping.

Third batch is cooling now.

Why did I agree to make this for a function?

It still doesn't taste great though. Just sweet corn flour with a bit of cocoa in it.

It's only a garnish though.

:laughing3: This is why I have (twice) pondered, discussed, even begun planning, and then decided against preparing food as a livelihood. Most baking/pastry/sweets are not my preferred foods to eat, therefore not my favourite to prepare, either. I often know how, but cannot be bothered to go through the full effort, even when someone asks me to try. If someone asked me for fairy floss, when I finished laughing, I'd offer them sugar glass, or maybe (if I really liked them) hard caramel candy drizzles, but not anything that required precise hand working!

:notworthy: My hat is off to you Column, that last batch looked excellent. :headbang:

Somebody gave us a free rock!
Image

Aholes. They did it to the next door neighbours car too.

And we rung up insurance, to see if they'd cover it. It's $440 for excess, and the screen cost us $220 to replace. If we had paid an extra $100 a year, we'd have been covered for 1 free windscreen, still not worth it though.

Wow what jerks!

I pondered paying the bit more for the windscreen thing with our insurance but it ended up working out better to just put the extra aside and pay out of pocket to replace the windscreen if it ever needs it.

That fourth batch you made looks much better. Is it anything like Persian fairy floss? Looks similar, does it have that weird sugary floury taste?

It was persian fairy floss.

It worked out alright, everybody seemed happy with it :)

And stupid people, I can't see the appeal to throwing rocks at somebodies cars, but I bet they thought it was hilarious.

Lol, both my brother and I have experienced a very similar thing, but not with a car window..... but car insurance all together.... the ONLY reason to have insurance on an older / cheaper car is incase you damage other peoples property.

glass insurance is never worth it unless its thrown in for free.

depends where you live, Ive got commercial vehicle covers 3 vehicles and free windscreen replacement, One van got 3 in one year, 2 were rocks from grain trucks, 1 from deranged yob who thought he could break it, finished with so many scratch marks my local police officer, offered to slap a non road worthy sticker on it, that 'helped' sway the insurance company. yah.. Yes I probably pay for it but its just damn easier. Only had one roo try showing that he was bigger than me.
Him = death, my van = non destructive damage.

In your case it makes more sense to have it.

And don't get me started on roo's, just had to deal with writing a car off and having to find a replacement thanks to a big dopey one lumbering out in front of the car. :blackeye:
