We've got Monsanto plants all over the place here. Who knows what GMO's are going to do to us: make us evolve into a cross between a mole and a cricket is my guess. Does your gov't allow gmo's into the food supply in your country? When I order seeds in the next week I'll go with all organic so I can see what the difference is if any.

For sure, Luxnor, everything about Monsanto sucks. You heard how they now want to commodify and privatize water?

Quote:
Right now, there is probably no other company that is doing more to endanger the health of this planet, and it's inhabitants, than Monsanto. With Nazi-like attitude, they are leading the world in shear destructive evil greed. First they were a drug company, and then they expanded to become a drugs and genetic engineering company, and now Monsanto is attempting to acquire water rights in countries with water shortages in a move to control the people's basic means of survival, and production of the global food supply. Giant transnational corporations like Monsanto, in collusion with the World Bank and the World Trade Organization, seek to commodify and privatize the world's water and put it on the open market for sale to the highest bidder. Millions of the world's citizens are being deprived of this fundamental human right, and vast ecological damage is being wrought as massive industry claims water once used to sustain communities and replenish nature.

In Cochabamba, Bolivia, the people, led by union leader Oscar Olivera, forced the giant engineering company Bechtel, a globalist partner of Monsanto, to leave the country and stopped a World Bank–imposed privatization scheme that more than doubled the price of water to the local people. The mainstream press was, of course, reluctant to tell this story. It's hard to even describe the evil of Monsanto in a brief article. From the people who brought you such wonders as Agent Orange, and the deadly sweetner aspartame, it's... genetically modified food! They are one of the major forces behind GMOs -- genetically modified organisms. Even though the vast majority of Americans feel that genetically modified food should be labeled as such, Monsanto has successfully stopped all such laws -- and they've gotten the US government to try to stop other countries that do.

http://www.geocities.com/northstarzone/MONSANTO.html. Good article.

Be careful that the seed you are getting truly is not GM contaminated.

Prophetic warning to store 30 day supply of food...........

AN URGENT MESSAGE

I am compelled by the Holy Spirit to send out an urgent message to all on our mailing list, and to friends and to bishops we have met all over the world.

AN EARTH-SHATTERING CALAMITY IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN. IT IS GOING TO BE SO FRIGHTENING, WE ARE ALL GOING TO TREMBLE - EVEN THE GODLIEST AMONG US.

For ten years I have been warning about a thousand fires coming to New York City. It will engulf the whole megaplex, including areas of New Jersey and Connecticut. Major cities all across America will experience riots and blazing fires—such as we saw in Watts, Los Angeles, years ago.

There will be riots and fires in cities worldwide. There will be looting—including Times Square, New York City. What we are experiencing now is not a recession, not even a depression. We are under God’s wrath. In Psalm 11 it is written,

“If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” (v. 3).

God is judging the raging sins of America and the nations. He is destroying the secular foundations.

The prophet Jeremiah pleaded with wicked Israel, “God is fashioning a calamity against you and devising a plan against you. Oh, turn back each of you from your evil way, and reform your ways and deeds. But they will say, It’s hopeless! For we are going to follow our own plans, and each of us will act according to the stubbornness of his evil heart” (Jeremiah 18:11-12).

In Psalm 11:6, David warns, “Upon the wicked he will rain snares (coals of fire)…fire…burning wind…will be the portion of their cup.” Why? David answered, “Because the Lord is righteous” (v. 7). This is a righteous judgment—just as in the judgments of Sodom and in Noah’s generation.

WHAT SHALL THE RIGHTEOUS DO? WHAT ABOUT GOD’S PEOPLE?

First, I give you a practical word I received for my own direction. If possible lay in store a thirty-day supply of non-perishable food, toiletries and other essentials. In major cities, grocery stores are emptied in an hour at the sign of an impending disaster.

As for our spiritual reaction, we have but two options. This is outlined in Psalm 11. We “flee like a bird to a mountain.” Or, as David says, “He fixed his eyes on the Lord on his throne in heaven—his eyes beholding, his eyelids testing the sons of men” (v. 4). “In the Lord I take refuge” (v. 1).

I will say to my soul: No need to run...no need to hide. This is God’s righteous work. I will behold our Lord on his throne, with his eye of tender, loving kindness watching over every step I take—trusting that he will deliver his people even through floods, fires, calamities, tests, trials of all kinds.

Note: I do not know when these things will come to pass, but I know it is not far off. I have unburdened my soul to you. Do with the message as you choose.

God bless and keep you,

In Christ,

DAVID WILKERSON

Without meaning to "diss" the writer... just what signs or portends leads him to believe there is an immenent "fire storm" about to hit NYC... oes he actually set a date...

Is there a meteor approaching earth or something....

Or is it just the exhaust from the mothership coming to pickup the righteous... where's my tin foil hat...

Come on Cyara... I thought you were a serious student of religion and "seeker" of truth...

Ahhh.. OK.... makes a bit of a habit of the old prophecy does Mr .Wilkerson ...

Quote:
In 1973, Wilkerson claimed to have received a vision regarding the future of the United States and subsequently gave a sermon on the vision and published a book called The Vision. Wilkerson believed that God had revealed to him a great calamity which was going to befall America due to increase in sins such as homosexuality, sexual promiscuity, and greed.

Some of the details of this 1973 vision were:

"Worldwide recession caused by economic confusion"
"At most a few more fat flourishing years, and then an economic recession that's going to affect the life style of every wage-earner in the world. The world economists are going to be at loss to explain what's happening. It's going to start in Europe, spread to Japan and finally to the United States."
There will be a move toward a worldwide, unified monetary system. The US dollar will be hit bad and it will take years for it to recover.
The only real security will be in real estate (until a somewhat later stage, at which point this apparent security will also disappear).
"Nature having labor pains"
Environmentalists will come under heavy criticism.
There will be major earthquakes.
There will be a major famine.
Floods, hurricanes and tornadoes will increase in frequency.
"A new kind of cosmic storm appearing as a raging fire in the sky leaving a kind of vapor trail."[2]
"A flood of filth and a baptism of dirt in America"
Topless women will appear on television, followed by full nudity.
Adult, X rated movies will be shown on cable television. Young people will gather at homes to watch this kind of material in groups.
Sex and the occult will be mixed.
There will be an acceptance of homosexuality, and the church will even say that it is a God-given gift.
"Rebellion in the home"
"I see the new number one youth problem in America and the world as hatred towards parents."[2]
"A persecution madness against truly Spirit filled Christians who love Jesus Christ"
There will arise a world church consisting of a union between liberal ecumenical Protestants and the Roman Catholic Church, using Christ in name only.
There will be a hate Christ movement.
There will be a spiritual awakening behind the Iron and Bamboo Curtains.
Others
There will be another wave of riots.
There will be a fall in moral conduct.
There will be a new drug that will be popular with teenagers that will break down resistance and will encourage sexual activity.
Homosexual and lesbian ministers will be ordained and this will be heralded as a new breed of pioneer.
There will be nude dancing in church, but this will never be widespread.
There will be occult practices in churches.

Well that's all very predictable... isn't it.... surprised he didn't blame it all on Elvis and that "devil" music... hang on ... wasn't that supposed to cause all the same problems... about twenty years before this guy came along...

Famed pastor predicts imminent catastrophe
Best-selling author, Teen Challenge founder, sees 'earth-shattering calamity about to happen'

David Wilkerson
A respected pastor, best-selling author and founder of a major ministry to teens predicts an imminent "earth-shattering calamity" centered in New York City that will spread to major urban areas across the country and around the world – part of what he sees as a judgment from God.

David Wilkerson, author of "The Cross and the Switchblade," a book about his ministry to troubled New York street kids that was later made into a movie starring Pat Boone, tells readers of his blog this weekend that he is "compelled by the Holy Spirit to send out an urgent message" about his prediction.

"An earth-shattering calamity is about to happen," he writes. "It is going to be so frightening, we are all going to tremble – even the godliest among us."

Wilkerson's vision is of fires raging through New York City.

"It will engulf the whole megaplex, including areas of New Jersey and Connecticut. Major cities all across America will experience riots and blazing fires – such as we saw in Watts, Los Angeles, years ago," he explains. "There will be riots and fires in cities worldwide. There will be looting – including Times Square, New York City. What we are experiencing now is not a recession, not even a depression. We are under God’s wrath. In Psalm 11 it is written, "If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?"

In this age of evil, be a champion for God and stand up for the absolute truth of Scripture, not the misconceptions you've been led to believe. Get "Shocked by the Bible: The Most Astonishing Facts You've Never Been Told" personally autographed!

Wilkerson is the founding pastor of Times Square Church in New York City, where he launched a ministry to gang members and drug addicts in 1958. He is a highly regarded mentor to other pastors in evangelical circles and travels the world holding conferences for other Christian ministers.

His work in New York in the 1950s and 1960s led to the formation of Teen Challenge – a nationwide ministry to reach out to people with life-controlling habits. Teen Challenge has grown to include 173 residential programs and numerous evangelism outreach centers in the United States, and 241 centers in 77 other countries. The program claims a recovery rate of 86 percent.

The story of Wilkerson's first five years of ministry in New York is told in "The Cross and the Switchblade," a book he co-authored in 1963. The book became a best-selling phenomenon and more than 15 million copies have been distributed in over 30 languages.

"God is judging the raging sins of America and the nations," claims Wilkerson. "He is destroying the secular foundations." Wilkerson urges everyone to stockpile a 30-day supply of food and other necessities to deal with the catastrophe he foresees.

"I do not know when these things will come to pass, but I know it is not far off," Wilkerson concluded in his message. "I have unburdened my soul to you. Do with the message as you choose."

A past vice president of the Southern Baptist Convention is hoping believers pay attention to Wilkerson's message.

"I have known David Wilkerson for more than 25 years as well as many of his friends and associates," said Pastor Wiley Drake. "He is a godly man and I believe he is listening to God. I encourage each Christian to read and heed what God is saying through our brother."

I've looked through a few organic catalogues, will place an order soon. I figure if they claim to be organic on every page then it's worth a shot. I'll probably shy away from those that have conventional right next to organic listed.

Maybe Monsanto will be the next big bubble to burst. I know farmer's here are hooked on the insect resistant seeds they produce in mass quantities. Pesticides on/in seeds just don't sound right to me... Oh well, mother nature won't be needing a bailout anytime soon. We're just fleas that can be disposed of when we go too far.

I remember seeing the "cross and the switchblade" back in youth group at my family church. It's dating myself more than proving/disproving wilkerson's claim of coming afflictions. Just on last nights news they showed scenes of shanty towns (tent cities) going up in places like Sacramento and Atlanta, similar to the ones they had during the last great depression. So maybe this guy just has a flair for the obvious...

Personally, I think this or next week the other shoe will drop and a fundamental shift into survival mode will begin across the country. What that will look like I'm not entirely sure at this point. All I know is that I can't complete my "Bush" garden soon enough. :-)

We haven't heard much on the water thing here. Our news is pretty much canned and spoon fed to us here. I try to read iht (international herald tribune) iht.com on a daily basis but that's (excuse the pun) probably watered down too. :bigsmurf:

I need to look further than local for my news too Luxnor. :D If it wasn't all such serious stuff I would consider our news local comedy.

Monsanto's capacity for greed seems rapacious. But even more shocking is how much they seem to get away with. But there must be true organic seed companies still. Wish you happy hunting. Might be good to blog your success somewhere on forum to let others know.

With regard to the 30 day stockpiling... If I was there I would. The American public has been primed to expect Martial law for some time now and perhaps the sudden something that David Wilkerson speaks of could be all it takes. Another 9/11 would surely do it. Can't hurt to have the stores even if all proves bogus...more peace of mind..... but don't believe is bogus. All those 500 odd Fema camps dotted about the country are ominous. Federal Emergenicy management agency camps... said to be needed in the event of an epidemic of flu even. This was widely covered earlier on this thread I think ..... or one of the threads anyway. Just google FEMA CAMPS if this is new stuff to you. Also FEMA CAMPS PASTORS to get an idea of how insidious the control sought. This stuff is going worldwide I believe... The States is just the vanguard and so less time to wake up to what needs doing. I have many friends over there and trying to warn as many as I can.

Take care. :flower:

Another thought... might also check out Ifragard..
http://www.google.com/search?q=infragar ... lz=1I7GGLJ

Knowledge is power and easier to wake others up to what is shaping. Might know most of this stuff anyway. Not sure when you came on-board. I would rather be prepared... especially psycholigically. Pretty scary stuff and needs some adjustment to make decisions not merely based on panic. Especially with how fast some of this stuff is shaping.

There are times in history when courage is needed. World events happening now are almost sci-fi.... that even 10 years ago we would never have considered possible in out own life-times. I would rather be ready...... as much as possible.

Speaking of spoon fed news. The Obomanation crew is trying to pass the "fairness in media" thing. It basically would require any opposing view to theirs to be followed by the same amount of air time with someone from their camp saying the opposite. Also, they are wanting to regulate the internet news sources (all media, no matter how multi). That very scary to think they are trying that hard to bottle up control all news!!!

Replaced all the babies lost to the commorant. Many new ones. Still experimenting with sustainable foods.

General sustainability improving every week. Wormery finished. Rabbitry half built now. Had to stop to plant out all my Moringa bagged trees... started growing out the base of the plastic. So Moringa "forest" be planted out in about 2 more weeks.... lots of rocks to be removed but can use them for building. Slow hard work but will pay off in the end.

Going to do the hen-house next. New to building so have needed these smaller projects to gain confidence. Water holding is more challenging been told. Should then feel good about building my first AP system. My walls are getting straighter! :D Have learned so much about building on each project. Will be taking TC's advice and doing a small fingerling unit first to test out water pH etc with the pebbles I will be using. Been buying stuff to get ready in the meantime.

As said before.....don't really care how long it takes. Just seeing progress in general sustainability is very encouraging.

Thanks for asking C1.

Yip. Nothing fair about the Fairness Doctrine. Seems to be wanted by the Democrats to muzzle the right-wing conservatives.

An article in the Los Angeles Times...

Reagan got rid of it. It was ridiculous.

I'm at a point in my life where I'd simply be content to let those jokers in office have at it while I sit on the front porch sipping tea. It seems things will come down to the local level anyway as far as living in a sustainable lifestyle. The excesses that made the fat cats rich while raping the environment and cannibilizing the very system they thrived on (starting to sound like a petri dish). But then I've been fortunate in having an idealist intuitive personality type, and find things in life are better away from the masses.

I voted for Obama, even canvassed the neighborhood so he'd get in. If he really is a constiturional lawyer he'll put gov't back into it's cage (picture whip and chair). Unfortunately there is a global interdependence now that is difficult to navigate. I think he's doing the best with what he can.

The conquer and burn mentality that developed and spread civilization across the world isn't the poster child for helping people come together for an unified purpose. Which imho will one day be back ro basic survival. Voluntary simplicity struck a chord with me some years ago (after seeing what a soulless monster the corporation I worked for was).

Will the masses see the way I do before it's too late is doubtful. I can only choose the path that is spiritually (as well as all the other .....ly's) right for me. Can't imagine trying to convince someone why it's right for me. It just is... (ok, think I'm starting to ramble)

I think Obama genuinely wants to make a difference for the people but too much stacked against him - and his inexperience is already showing. He must be under pressures the general public could not even imagine. He has entered office with so much hope from those who backed him but I wonder how much actual say he really has and how much part of a big implacable machine he is part of. I don't personally think that govt has the answers out of such a mess. Anywhere.

Most of Europe would have voted Obama in... and many even felt they had the right to a vote! (unreal!)... but I heard one interviewed French Political Analyst say that even though the vote was for Obama in America not many would vote for him back home. Interesting.

Not for no reason is there such a hard swing toward survival across the world. Govts have failed their people worldwide and people are waking up to the fact that their is no big daddy.... more like a monster big brother.
