I have many IBC's at my disposal.

All used but in good condition, I wash them out with chlorine and leave them out in the sun filled with water with an aerator for a few days, havnt had a problem yet.

They are for free to anyone that is prepared to either pick them up or pay the transport.

Ha ha, Ill try my best FB.

Im wondering if I can get some to you through our work on a back load courier truck, leave it with me and Ill see what I can do, other than that maybe I could post before Im heading your way and see if anyone is after some although I could only fit a couple on a trailer.

I did hear on the grapevine that Murray Hallam is selling his IBC set ups for $1400! Bit dam pricey when you can set one up yourself for around $200ish (thats if your not paying for the IBC)

Im brand new here so i don't know the rules about selling stuff but i have 4 IBC's in excellent condition that are available to anyone who wants them for 65 each.

Each ibc has a little oil still in the bottom.

They company i get them from use them to store heavy duty engine oil short term between their supplier and a cartage truck. i cleaned one up last night and have nearly finished tonight (took about 2 hours) with a little degreaser, bleach and the high pressure gun.
Im told that they had someone else get a few and made an aquaponics set up that's about 2 years old now.

I will also have more in a couple of weeks.

I have 2 very clean (used for transporting honey) IBC's that I paid 165$ each that I have to sell. I never even got to use them :(

They even have an electric heater under them to make the honey runny.\

All I know is they are there :)

They are a mat of some kind under the container with a cord and plug.

If they are enough to make a ton of honey runny I'm sure they would keep fish warm.

But this...

Ive been running a power head in my blue barrel system that creates a decent movement of water. My silvers are still feeding when the water is down to 10 or 11 degrees c. In the past, without the water flow they stopped feeding at 15 or 16 degrees c

It might be for some other reason, but other than changing address nothing else has changed.

A power head is a fishtank pump thinggy thats more like an outboard motor than a pump. It cant lift water but this one claims to move 5000 litres per hour running at only 12 watts or something.

The fish seem to love it and spend all their time in the rapid flow rather than one of the quieter areas of the tank.

I figure they are eating more because they are more active.

A power head might be a stack cheaper than heating.

I was running a 300 watt fishtank heater when I first started and it seemed to make 100$ adjustments to my wallet when a power bill came in.

Having said that having a heater might be a fish saver in a really cold period.

I'll let you know how they go over winter and if they actually grow, or just eat more.

I cant tell you anything about the heaters really because I never filled the IBC's due to having to move house. The new lease says no fish inside or out :(

$1,790.00....

I saw a dozen go at an auction today for $65 each, tempting but some of them weren't great condition..

Here in Minnesota, I can generally get a 270gal IBC for $75-$100 from craigslist, but a 300gal stock tank is $170. IBCs are the cheapest tank per gallon that I've been able to find (not including constructing a tank from scratch - lumber or concrete. Haven't priced those).
