Aussieponic, I agree! :) (Amen, even...!)

And I like the leggo analogy.... :)

Aquaddict... quite a philosophical post that last one.. I can really see that... makes you appreciate how incredible the world we live in is...

Quote:
There is definately a connection here with regards to aquaponics and 'the way things really work'. Or creation. There is an order to the chaos, a system of checks and balances we are only beginning to comprehend.

tis so true...

Yes, we have the 'leggo set' of the Gods, but we keep trying to manufacture our own cheaper plastic bricks.

(except I would say only one God!)

Sometimes what we see as gold, is really just dung... if you know what I mean? And perhaps vice versa in the context of Aqua, right?

OOH OOH did someone say LEGO! OOOH OOOH OOH!!!! I love Lego. it's my favourite. I still have my sets from when I was a wee little thing. I even have some from my Grandfather, I think...!!! wow... man do I love Lego.

The word Lego originates from the Danish words 'lege' & 'godt' - lege = play & godt = good. I don't know how many times I've been to LegoLand when I've been back home in Denmark... but I think I could go once a month & still not get bored. (Ok make that once every 6 months maybe  ) I think we can learn a lot from Lego these days. *goes to call her mum to check that she still has the Lego stuff*

Bob marly was a Rasta. So was Samson, Samuel & John the Baptist.

Rasta is based on the bible(old testament). It is when some one takes the nazarite vow found here http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?bo ... version=31

It was a vow you take in the old time days when you want to find 'God' or Jah as it is called in Rasta. Then someone decided that it would be best to stay in this 'vow' once were liveing in this 'system of things'.

As for the colours ice, gold and green represent the colours of the earth.

By the way, Rasta is not a religon its a way of life........

i guess i'm the wierd one here as i practice the worlds oldest religion known as shamanism. i don't believe in god as such but feel that we are all connected through natures "overmind". through my training i have develeoped techniques to enter the consciousness of the overmind. basically my training involves performing tasks which put me into trances such as singing, drumming, dancing, meditating ect. i find working with water, plants and animals to be very trance inducing. in constructing my aquaponics system, i feel like i am creating a sacred temple of worship. in a way i am the "overmind" of the system. perhaps the universe is a sefisticated aquaponics setup created by some other overmind.

well thats enough rambling from me.

i work in the city with people who have lost contact with their soul's and been labled by professionals as "mentally ill". i will be experimenting with using aquaponics as a form of therapy to bring people back to a state of reality and stability. it is my hypothesis that actively participating in creating an aquaponics system is good for ones mental, physical, emotional and spiritual health. it seems to bring one back to touch with nature which is rare and has been taken away in the city. i feel this has the possibility to re-aline ones soul to a state of wellness.

I agree 100%. My first experience w/ AP working as a probation officer at a reform school (continuation/alternative ed - not sure what you folks call it) where it was difficul to get the juvenile delinquents to come to school. We built a greenhouse, set up a couple of those 1000L juice tanks (square w/ steel cage supports), stocked with cheap gold fish and started planting veggies. They loved it and started coming to school. I still see some of the kids (no grown up) in the little town I live in they always mention the greenhouse and how they enjoyed it.

There is healing power in this pursuit

Shamanism, Rasta, Christian, Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim, Wiccan, Leggo worshipers :), everyone is welcome here.

I'm amazed at you people, an eclectic group of different religions all posting in the same thread about their deepest beliefs, and all accepting of each others beliefs. Not only accepting, but actually interested to hear more about peoples differing opinions...

You all make me very happy.... :D

Personally I'm Paganistic in my beliefs, I've read a fair bit about many different religions, and many areas of pagan beliefs, Shamanism, Wiccan, Faery, Druid, etc.
None seem to fit my personal beliefs, so I'm just me, and I try to do as much 'good' as I can...
