The second draw from the hat has produced..Da DA
SPOT and DOT
The winning namers were Janet P and Rupert as you both suggested the same names.
I wonder if there is a conspiracy going on there?
Perhaps you are both after some pork?

Thank you all for your suggestions and I shall get on with feeding the piggies up.
Will keep you posted as to their progress!
Regards
WD

Nope, no conspiracy to get pork. I don't eat critters with 4 legs. It's part of my save-the-planet campaign. ;)

Hurrah Spot and Dot!! May you grow to be prized breeders. (And I love the irony that Spot and Dot are Not the ones with Spots and Dots!!)

To be more precise, I eat things that fly and things that swim, but nothing with 4 legs. I'm sure you can think of many things that fly or swim that I would not eat, but you get the idea.

If I were going to go back to eating 4-legged critters, pigs would be first on the list. Delicious, but I feel the commercial pork industry is too hard on the planet.

Janet do you eat flying fish.?
On a serious note Spot and Dot came from a place where three litters of different ages were mixed together so food time was a battle of the strongest. No bedding whatsoever which is definitely not my idea of looking after animals even if you are going to eat them at the end of the day.
They are now well bedded down with plenty of clean straw and in addition to proper rations they have been eating surplus duck and hen eggs, french beans, tomatoes, cabbage and as much lettuce as they want. They are happy and so am I.
Rupert you really are incredible, you wrote exactly the same as Janet again. WOW.
Regards

Flying fish get double points! Very tasty prepared lightly battered with salt and lime. A side of Chrisophene (summer squash) and rice with beans. Mmmmm.

I am -very- glad to hear that Spot and Dot are well-cared for now. I truly believe in respectful treatment of animals, no matter what their destined end. Give them an extra tomato each from me.

I raised three little pigs to harvest size. I fed them commercial food for weeks on end with very little progress on growth. Then one day I went to a nearby town to buy some "candy" sweet corn from a fella who had a truck farm. Got to talking to the old guy and he learned that I had some pigs. Never had to buy any more food for those pigs. They would fight each other for best position everytime I backed the truck up to the pen. They adored all the musk melons, cantelope, squash, turnips etc. that were otherwise going to be gathering pesky flies in this fellas fields. They put more weight on with real food it is certain. Didn't need that medicated stuff anyway. The dog I had at the time loved that medicated pig food. His name was piggy by the way.
