Mmm love that colour of blue just for starters :)
The Olympus stacks up well against it from what I could tell and I understand that at that level there is not a lot of difference in the megapixels as they will both deliver great quality. I laughed when I read «don't put it in your back pocket» that is where mine lives when I am in the garden. Lol
The difference in depth 10 _ 12 metres irrelevant, that is waay deeper than required. I would hire a camera for deep sea underwater photography. I am sure we have seen the Olympus way cheaper at Harvey Norman, just last week so shop around.
It looks faster on the speed of getting the shot, that would be an advantage, SLR cameras are quicker but wont fit in my back pocket. Good luck and let us know what you get.ps I am not a camera guru, I am still learning. Though I do carry 2 or 3 in my handbag at all times oops

Carrying more than 1 camera on your person makes you a guru in my book :) Plus i have seen some of your photos and they look good to me. I was actually learning towards the Olympus, but the user reviews on the cnet site were less than flattering with respect to geo-tagging gps time and especially battery time.

How do you find your battery life?

I might charge a battery weekly, maybe. I will have to pay attention now. I have no trouble taking a hundred or more photos in a session. The gps and geothingy is a bit too tecno for me, so far I rely on my memory.
