Ooops about a foot of snow in addition to what we had, and hovering about 1 or 2C :)

Wow Boyd, that's really pretty... A white Christmas eh? Just like in the stories. We should do a US road trip to visit these weird cold places... Who's in?

whew! Just got in from shoveling the walk again. I decided to unbury my car and take a drive down the road. Filled the gas tank, watched some football at my grandparents then on my way home I hired a snowplow to come and do my driveway. With almost 20 inches of snow on the ground i was tired of shoveling... best 25$ i've spent!

such an inconvenience is almost inconceivable to some of us in sunnier climes. I have been told many times that the 'pretty' factor of snow does not counteract the 'hassle' and 'inconvenience' factors.
And it would be so cold, and wet when it's warmed up......... I'd love to see it first hand, just not be in it ;-)

Yeah, as much as I hate it, its a part of life here for us. come end of October it usually starts here. Its just makes driving difficult. I live so far out in the sticks that the county here doesn't plow our road (5 houses in a 2 mile stretch) and its zoned agricultural... so I figure they think I'll drive my tractor to work. Like anything else though, its all what you grew up with and what your used too. I think theres a lot to the grass is greener saying.

Well, since we came home nearly a week ago it's been over 40C every day!

The goldies are doing fabulously. Eating and growing like crazy. Apparently no one has told them they aren't supposed to be tropical! the water has been around 30C and they just don't care. I do have lots of aeration going in though. :D

We humans are hiding in the lounge with the air-con. It can't cope in the heat so were only cooling one room. Anyone want to take a guess were the cats are? I wouldn't mind spending the day sleeping in fount of the air-con ether!

We've been hosing the dogs down several times a day, even the one who doesn't like it much. She's so much happier after it she will come when she's called for it now. Still looks miserable while you hose her though. The boy wants a pond. While we were away he was swimming in the horse troughs all the time! He LOVES water.

Gonna be -5 F tonight in New Hampshire, we've had close to 5 feet of snow so far. Thats a crazy amount considering we usually don't get a whole lot of snow that sticks around before January. Five below zero really isn't that bad but when you add in 20 -25 mph winds it tends to be a bit nippy! 8)

Hee Hee Hee, I don't know how much bounce my knickers ever had to begin with. I'll bet that wind howls in Iowa, not a whole lot to get in its way to slow it down.

Thankfully we have been lucky in that the wind has been mostly absent with this cold spell but its still the big burr. Forcast has us above freezing this weekend, so T-shirt weather? :)

Same here, they say maybe 35 degrees this weekend. It does feel almost hot when it hits 40 after a good cold spell.

Hey dayflower. We need Obama to build on his Iowa momentum, can u pull any strings for us? (Must keep crazy lady away from keys to presidency.)

Weatherwise, it is 2.30am here, nearly 30C and not a breath of wind. My fish are loving it but i am so over it, it is not funny.
