Wow ! :D
Just had one of the most intense thunder storms I've seen in decades, huge down pour with hail ( first time my 11 year old son has seen hail )

It was very intense but only lasted 3/4 hour. No wind which is very unusual for Geraldton.

The kids collected the hail then played in the flooded road out the front. We may have a water front property for the next few hours.

The hail smashed a fair bit of foliage off the plants in the AP & I had to drop about 40L of excess water from the system but other than that no serious damage.

Rain been having showers over the past two weekd but now a Cyclone is developing of the Queensland coast. Heavy rain, strong winds over the next few days as well as above normal high tides. Can see the RAS having a good change over water over the next few days.

Category 5 cyclone Marcia expected to hit land in the next couple of hours with winds over 270 km/h. Scary stuff....

100k+ winds in Yepoon now. No cyclones ever hit whilst I studied in Rocky back in the late eighties, but it looks like this is as bad as they get. I was one of the nutters going for a surf at Emu park in the tail of many a cyclone that smashed to the north, but never like this. Good luck guys and hope there is not too much damage.

We have ice a few inches thick in bird bath. Low was about 26F. It's supposed to be upper 70's by Sunday. FT inside the GH with a 500W water heater and a small space heater was under 60. Sunny, so the GH will 90's later today.
