When working down East of Esperence in 89 I was drenching sheep and looked up to see a similar thing approaching, was full on, the wind must not have been a strong as no damage to buildings that I heard of, but before it hit I had to jump in the Landy with the dog and it went black for a few minites as it passed over, the ute was rocking about it the wind and dark, got some good pics, was pretty crazy.
Sorry to here about your mates Mum, my condolances.

WOW Gnash!!! That last photo is Gorgeous :thumbright:

Seriously you should blow that one up to poster size and sell them... We would love to put that shot up on our wall :D

Reminded me of a pic thats pretty well known here of a duststorm that hit Mildura in 1967. Story is that after the heads up that it was on its way, the photographer from the local rag bolted out the door and up the radio tower on the other side of the road. By the time he took a couple of shots the storm hit and from memory he was stuck up there until it cleared enough for him to get down. Its actually a sequence of shots and you can just see one of the joins about 2/3 - 3/4 of the way in.

Hope you dont mind the hijack gnash and love your photos of the dustclouds rolling in. Well done!

Wow, Gnash,

That dust cloud rolling in, Reminds me of West Texas back in the 60's, when they would roll in like that quite regular. they don't seem to have the really big T- storm dust clouds like that out there anymore......

Probably no topsoil left to blow away any more, RS... That was one of my first thoughts when I saw Nashs pics, "damn thats a lot of top soil being lost."

Some of it in my rain water tank and a bit snuck in under our sliding glass door.

Lucky we had a clean up for cyclone Bianca, as it might have been an out door chair that snuck right through the door. We were in Perth but came home after the storm when we heard of the damage. Just a few trees down across fences and only 90% of my tunnel house. You will have to wait till I post later tonight on my thread. We have been without wireless internet since the storm. It is hard to live without it these days.

Try this picky of the storm.

No I'm not the mad man!!, for two reasons. One being the storm and the other, it is a glider wing. I use a motor and propeller.
