Absolutely in favour of conserving wild fish stock Bluefin... just don't figure that calling a bluefin tuna... a sea kitten... will really make a lot of tuna fishermen start quietly sobbing and going all gooey...

I share some similar goals with Peta: 1) There is no excuse to being cruel to pets. 2) They want to protect threatend and endangered species, 3) They like to take their clothes off and be naked, I like that  But I have some very real differences, 1) domestic livestock is food :!: 2) Wild game is food. 3) The proper taking of wild game for food or fur for the purposes of food, fur, or controling their numbers is the right thing to. It is our resonsibility to keep wildlife numbers at health levels. We are the stewards of our environment and our World. And they alway come up with some BS story why we shouldn't be hunting! My acronynm for Peta

HAHA ! "Soil bunnies" , nice one Rupe - almost as funny as "sea kittens"

way for PETA to destroy any credibility they ever had - come up with wacky names for things that have already got names

PETA needs to install a brain/mouth filter

"Tara the Tuna loves to cuddle up to her sea-kitten pals" ?!

do they realise fish eat other fish ??

or is it the fault of the humans that theres so much evil in the world , and without us all the animals would get along ...

reminds me of the religious show I saw on the Access31 last year with the lion "cuddling" the cute mouse in its mouth

Jessy, it is nobel to quit trawling if you know that you are doing harm to the oceanic ecosystem that the oceans cannot easily absorb. Overfishing of the oceans and any body of water is a real problem that is happening all over the world. I do it recreationaly. Only real regulation and enforcement can fix that issue. When I was a young teenager I could easily catch a limit of trout and red drum. The gill nets caught everything in the water and for 20 years after it was rare anybody caught a limit. About 10 years ago gill nets were outlawed by the State and the fish are back in numbers and size. State waters end 2 miles offshore so comercial trawlers catch for the restraunt industries and because speckled trout and red fish were declared game fish they cannot be sold in restraunts here in Louisiana. The Federal waters (for fishing) only go out 10 miles, so international trawlers catch everything with monofiliment nets. There are floating factories and helicopter spoters looking for the schools. The Florida porgy boats as well as Russian and Japanese trawlers catch everything. (I don't think the Russians catch much, their boats have more antanaes than nets  ) Well to stop my rambling, Peta is more interested in stopping all use of any type of animal life form.
It is for a pure vegi lifestyle and no interference with animals except as pets. Its the 2nd part of that statment that is in itself irresponsible.
