Adrian, that looks good, what are the wheel sizes, 16'' front, 24 rear? I have read that a 16'' rear wheel helps a lot with the gearing. And 16'' front wheels means shorter (stronger) spokes and less torsional and lateral forces on the frame. Lighter too. I like the trailer, do you notice the extra weight and drag much?
How about we get together...you start from Perth and I'll start from Toowoomba and we can meet half way...say...about Mildura!!! LOL

Boo Hoo Rupe!!! It's all flat from WA isn't it? Remember, I'll have to go home again. Uphill.
Mind you, I'm half serious, a big road trip would be lots of fun. The AP Express, spreading the gospel of fish poo...

Hey Charlie, how are ya! I have some friends in Searcy, might be visiting them next year. I was last over at Christmas, 2003. Had a ball.
How do you find your WhizWheels? It's one of the brands I am looking at. Can't wait.
Is that you in the pic? Urgh!

Snag, this is the Log Trike website. Martin Arnold now exports world-wide.

Yep that's me alright  Friend of mine from Nova Scotia had that faked up and sent it to MySpace page as a happy birthday comment.

I Love My WhizWheelz Cruiser! Though it spent most of the winter in the living room set on a drive wheel trainer with pillows on the seat so my other half could reach the pedals  Did look for a couple of years before buying one and have no complaints on it.

Searcy...hmmm, that's a good drive from me but do let me know for sure if you plan to come. It would be a hoot to visit perhaps and maybe you can come here if chance permits and I'll have a system running by then :D

It's a date then.
That's one of the (many) great things about Australia...there is no real winter like you guys have, I can ride pretty much every day of the year, unless it is cyclonic rain, but then I have a reputation of bravery (or foolhardiness)!
I started looking a year ago, couldn't afford it then. Have to balance the budget with AP purchases, but the skyrocketing price of petrol here has convinced the missus, as well as my expanding waistline.

Thanks Adrian, sure looks good. I guess the choice will be governed by physical fit and comfort, price, and ability to carry my stuff. A trailer looks likely, I have had a lot of shoulder pain and balance issues with a backpack on a standard treadlie.

What AP needs now is stickers, one that can be stuck everywhere, on bikes, helmets, rear windows of 4wd's (tee hee)...would certainly find an audience with the eco friendly cyclist crowd. Any thoughts Joel?

If you've never tried a three wheel recumbent, you won't believe how many muscles you're using on a normal bike just to stay upright. I found it so much more relaxing to ride. That was ten years ago, and I've wanted one ever since.
The only problem is price, visibility and the fact that I have way too many bikes already :D

Ta Adrian, will check it out. Your outfit looks slick, does it ride as good as it looks?

It did, Snag. The trailer is A1. Being single-wheel, with a low centre of gravity, it is easy on the muscles.

I don't know if they could specifically be called "mountain bike" but folks put knobbys on them and go "trail" riding...mostly in the USA. I guess what we would call "fire trails" or the old "gravel road". A lot of folk go touring with a trailer over some pretty inhospitable country. I like that concept, as opposed to the MTB "go really fast over whatever gets in your way" approach. But then, I have three boys who are into downhill, and after several high speed trips to A&E I may be a bit biased!!!
