have just realised when my computer spits me out of the internet and I come back to this site I am still registered as being logged in but I have to relog in to log out. I hope this doesn't cause any troubles with the site as it happens quite often. It seems to be a problem when the internet is busy, it just freezes up and you have to close it down. Then it prepares an error report to send to microsoft which you can send or not. When you look into possible causes it gives you a rundown on clearing history and cookies, disk defrag and all the other computer cleanup stuff. Have done all this at various times but it shouldn't be a problem as this is only a home computer with about 99% unused capacity. I'm not sure of the exact numbers but it is an expensive setup which was bought with the future demands of kids at school and them downloading music and DVD's etc. Have a couple of 2MB files from the work computer which open instantly on mine but take a minute or longer on the work one. It runs fine for ages some days, but other days you just give up as it keeps giving the message microsoft internet explorer not responding but telstra won't admit to it being anything to do with their setup, probably trying to get me to upgrade my broadband plan. Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Probably true cod fish, I'm picking you're running Internet Explorer 7.

It has known problems. Known to anyone that uses it and known to Microsoft.

There is supposedly a SP (service pack) fix coming, but it seems to be taking forever to get here and I'm beginning to think it may take a while yet.

I have develeoped the distinct impression that the whole "Vista" release is rapidly becoming like Windows ME...... basically a load of smelly dung... designed as an interim marketing release to move people onto machines that will cope with the forthcoming "Longhorn" server product release.

Choices... as above go firefox or if you're system has updated to IE7 automatically, remove it and revert/reinstall IE6.

Easy answer IE is crap.... use Firefox.

Yeah Vista has been labeled Microsoft ME2, or NT2.

Firefox is an internet "browser" like "Internet Explorer"...... becoming/is a very popular alternative to the MS product.

Download from Mozilla Here

It is entirely possible to run both browsers on your system if you want to try it out Cod
